Have you considered using shade smooth? ( if this was made in blender)

I tried making it smooth, however the knight ended up looking disgusting, so I just made it all low poly to not make the knight look out of place.

the knight looks sicko mode but the pawn however looks ehh a bit weird

I wish the polygons weren’t showing as much but it looks amazing. But you should change the white color on the board with some gold-ish color or change the non-black chess piece to white so it fits.

I’d recommend smooth shading like already mentioned, you said there was topology issues, could you not crease the sharp edges to account for that?

That’s a great idea I’ve forgotten about that feature.

OR you could just use Auto Smooth to limit the smoothing to angles below 30 degrees.
Btw the chess set looks epic!

Woah that’s amazing. And I don’t think the queen and the king are in the right place

Not on the dark side. I would also suggest making the board have the ice material, and making the pieces smoother. Otherwise looks pretty cool, I like the reflection on the pieces.

The chess figures need a different material type… How did you get that name on Roblox?

Teach me that stuff XD

LOL I wish I had some of that luck

Sensational! I would recommend you to use shade smooth, but I saw that you already edited the topic and corrected it.

The pawn I thought was a little low, you could increase his body size more vertically. The bishop got a little too pointy, like those party hats, try to curve a little more and the King and Queen got a very thin body, try to thicken more. And I recommend using a reference image when you model in Blender, it helps a lot!

I bet the hardest part was making the horse, I’ve been through it, I suffered a lot. Other than that, it turned out amazing, great job!

Thanks for the feedback, I’ll try editing some of the proportions.

For the horse, it did take longer than the others however I got pretty lucky as I had some experience making low poly animals, so it ended up not being too bad.

It looks really nice. Will it potentially be in a chess game? :eyes:

The white king should also be on its own color, queens are always on an opposite color (10/10 otherwise, nice and clean accurate pieces)
