I honestly love it! However, there is a but… The background picture seems very realistic and does not tie into the character in my opinion. The feet are also floating on like fake snow. I think maybe the colour of the cookie could also be changed a bit to a darker tone. Overall rating: 6/10. (I still love it!)

background picture is too pixelated and the character does not fit in at all and it is all very disproportionate, lighting does not match, posing is alright but there should be more dynamic posing and better lighting.
overall rating: 3/10

It’s not that good, to be honest. The character render’s lighting is really bad, I advice you to look into lighting techniques (my personl favourite is rim lighting, simple and looks good). Another thing I dislike a lot, is you slapping on a (pixelated) background from google. You should add the background in the render itself, rather than adding an image from google. Overall, 2/10.

EDIT:- You also need to improve your posing.

The character does not fit with the background. Overall, it look’s good.

Instead of having some image background, maybe try making one instead.

The objects you used in your GFX are positioned nicely. The torso is in an awkward position where it looks like its further back from the legs or floating above them. I’m not sure if its how the shirt is designed that’s making it look this way, but the arm holding the cookie looks like it has been twisted too much. The avatar looks more like it’s floating in the background rather than standing somewhere, and the background is too pixelated; try changing the background, or at least making it less blurry.

Background looks like you got it off the internet. Next time use models from toolbox or make your own. I like the posing and props. Good job!

I use Blender 2.79, though I have used newer versions of Blender before, so I am going off of memory.
There should be a button at the top left of your screen that says “Edit”. If you click it, there should be an option near the bottom of the popup that says “Preferences”. There should be a setting there that lets you change the controls of Blender.

Should I switch to blender 2.79 ?

That is really up to you. I only use Blender 2.79 because when I learned GFX, I used the interface on that version of Blender and I prefer that over newer versions of Blender. You can give it a try and see if you prefer it, but it’s up to you.

Is It any easier than 2.9? Or Is It just a preference thing?
