Hello, I am building a lobby for a new game I am working on, themed cyberpunk-ish. This is the first time I am creating a lobby, so I decided I should share and ask for some feedback from you guys.
I think The game that you made or Created looks amazing because of the Design of it. I Would like to say was each and every build you have done are absolutely huge and also kinda fascinating Ask a Roblox Developer. So I think you Donât have any issue the build that you created and I hope that you can show me now if you finished with the game that you created or Showcase so that you can show me and other Roblox developer. that all I wanna say and I hope you have a wonderful day⊠:>
@Blizzei Yes I am still working on the lighting, problem is that Technology settings differ too much one from the other, so I will need to change a lot in case I want to change. (if âFutureâ tech lighting is implemented). @MerlinTealess Thanks, you too!
I donât mean to be too negative. After all, the map does in fact look amazing. However, people tend to get drawn away from the purpose and intent of a build or design and more into its details if they arenât careful. What I mean to say is although you have a lot of variety and color, your design seems confusing and too cluttered. Understandably there is only one image to reference so I am only making judgements based on that. My recommendation is to rearrange a few things and give the player a sense of direction to follow. Even though this is just a lobby the way things are placed do matter and mentally guide a player as they walk around. Overall great design and I love the models.
Yes, a great observation. I forgot to, but I should have mentioned. This is going to be a lobby, but players wonât be able to actually move in it. It exists purely for its aesthetic, there will be no functionality such as players going to shops or to some levels for gameplay. My idea is replace the basic UI menu background with 3D scenes (was thinking of adding some dynamics such as cars passing by, and drones flying while holding Neon adds).
If you still consider stuff should be rearranged even if there should not be a sense of direction in this specific lobby, please let me know, I will work on it.
This is just the lobby? This looks like the full game! Very nice attention to detail.
I actually think the setup of the map is fine as it is. If youâre familiar with Age of Empires III, there is a similar menu layout as well. Here is a screenshot:
In the game, players can actually click on some of the buildings to view certain upgrades. In the end, thereâs no set organization of the buildings because itâs meant to look like a normal city, so Iâd say your âdisorganizedâ map works just as well.
I hope this helped! You earn a thumbs-up for Cyberpunk/Sci-fi Urban City Lobby quality.

Yes, that type of menu is the exact effect I was aiming for. I am glad you like it, thank you for your feedback!
Not gonna lie, the lobby is really nice. But, the lighting could use some work. Also, it looks sorta messy, like too much is going on in the background. Itâs cluttered, I suggest you rearrange some stuff so it doesnât look messy. Overall, good job.
Yes, I was struggling with the Technology property of Lighting, having it set to Future but later on I realised that is not released yet so I tried switching everything to a classic ShadowMap , and then the screenshot was taken after the changes had taken place so itâs pretty mixed up. Here is how it looks currently if you enter the game:
Do you think they are too bright? If you could also explain what do you think it is that needs fixing, that would be greatly appreciated!
@me_rzy is right, I was actually aiming for a messy environment, just like in a futuristic sci-fi urban city. Compared to cyberpunk city images I used as references, this scene is very simple actually .
@Stig_ProRacer yes they are 3D models, stretched cable meshparts to be exact.
Oh, I actually didnât know that. Well if thatâs what you were going for, I donât really have much critique on the lobby. Also, I do think itâs kinda think it was too dark at 1st but now that iâm realizing it, it doesnât really need that much improvement. Overall, I really like it. Sorry for the bad grammar or use with words.
