Hi, I have always taken an interest in Roblox development and would like to begin the development of a game. I have a few ideas that are currently circling my head but I’m unsure of what to go ahead with. In terms of my own experience, I do have building experience and some scripting experience, but the majority of my recent experience is managing game development and release. I will mention that I do have a decent investment that I can put towards the game in terms of its development and advertising. I would say for all the ideas that I’m not especially bothered about profiting as I care more about the quality and would only be concerned about covering whatever expenses there are. I’ll mention the base of the ideas below and any feedback on these ideas and what you prefer would be awesome!
First Idea
- Linear, narrative story game that would be partially voiced and explore the final wishes of someone’s life. It would have an overarching emotional feel to it but would be relatively sweet/ sentimental. The game will only have 1-2 hours of gameplay but it would be quite high quality. I understand these types of games aren’t very successful on Roblox nor profitable, but I would love to hear if there may be potential for it at least being somewhat successful.
Second Idea
- This would be sort of a generic SCP:F site except it would be larger than most SCP sites and have further “advanced” systems, especially in terms of civil teams to help keep player counts high and not a generic “cops and robbers” theme. This idea would probably be the most investment and development intensive as it may include features like reactors, mass transit systems, and advanced SCP objects. I have quite a lot of experience with SCP games so I have quite an in-depth understanding of how these games work and what is/ isn’t successful.
Third Idea
- This would also be a SCP game, it would be a co-op game where you can either play solo or in teams of up to 4. You would essentially explore an abandoned site and fight off different SCPs like the zombies while learning about what happened. Different areas/ levels would have different enemies. I’m not fully sure as to whether to have this as more of a story game (multiple different endings) or a co-op fighting game where it’s raid the facility, kill the monsters, and then repeat.
