Recently I’ve been working on a game that is relatively similar to Survive the Disasters, though with a slightly more aged appearance. It’s little more than a test at the moment, with very few disasters and not much to set it apart from other games, though I hope for that to change in the future.
The game’s one unique mechanic is the handling of disaster “series”, which are periods of 5 disaster rounds that end with the map and players respawning. If a player dies in a round, they will become a semitransparent ghost for the rest of the series who can participate in rounds but will not gain wins.
Note: The buildings in the map are free models. These were ripped straight from a disaster game I put together many years ago.
I have a few main questions I would like answers to:
Is the game relatively engaging or does it get boring quickly?
Do you notice high amounts of physics lag? If so, do you have any suggestions to reduce it?
Are there any ways I could make the game more unique without adding a progression system?
I have added randomly dropped items to the game which can be collected to aid survival for a life. I chose this over an item shop since I wanted to create a fairer and more competitive atmosphere.
Since they are gear items, there may be a few bugs with them that I will need to fix.
