Feedback on Forest Game

Hey guys, I’ve been working on this forest game for a while and just recently finished it.
I would greatly appreciate it if you sent me some feedback on my game.

It would be nice if some screenshots are provided. Not everyone is able to join the game.

Sorry about that, just updated the game. See if you can join again.

I think what he meant was, not everyone has the time to join the game. Maybe you should add screenshots…Welp, idk

Although I have no idea what’s going on in this game, some of the building looks quite nice. I especially like the things sitting on the cliffs since they look cool and make the world feel more immersive.

There’s some errors / areas to improve in that I’ve found:

These chairs are floating.

This section looks too empty; I presume the map’s supposed to feel like it’s floating but I think this area could do with some sort of detail, rather than just being an enormous grey block of slate.

I can walk on water.

The parts on this ladder/track thing are unevenly spaced out. A nitpick, I know.

The fabric parts on this bridge don’t look attached.

These mushrooms (they are mushrooms, right?) look a bit simplistic when compared to the rest of the build. You could try to shape them out a bit more so they don’t look as blocky.

Some parts of the build look quite blocky in general, like the bridge. I feel like you should flesh these areas out more by using shapes like wedges and cylinders to make the game feel more realistic and less blocky. So far though, I think it’s quite impressive and it’s a decent piece of work.

Thank you for the advice, I’ll definitely take it into consideration.

The game is a bit cluttered, too much going on. You could change the lighting, the neon parts are too much, and you can remove some, and the music in game does not fit well with the theme of the map.

What music do you recommend I use? And what parts should I remove from the map?

Honest, I really liked it. It gave me the feel of playing a game called “Rogue Lineage” when I entered another world. Water could get some work since it doesn’t look fitting to it, especially really white neons since they should be less intense.

I give a like to this game!

I would add recommend you add a nature like audio (for example birds chirping), and remove any unnecessary neon parts.

love the level of imagination, you made a really cool world! few problems laddders are too big and etc, but a great first build

I hate to be supercritical, but here’s what i think:

First off, there’s no theme. I know you’re trying to make it uncanny, or unsettling as the title suggets, but things just seem to be placed randomly.

There’s no concurrent color theme or style. the colors seem randomly chosen, and things seem rather brash and out of place.

The lighting is… eh. Considering that the Future lighting has been released, this doesn’t seem to be very atmospheric or immersive. going to the forest floor is just boring, nothing there and no dynamic, interesting use of lighting.

You spawn in a very interesting location, considering its by the side of the map, and you can see everything. kind of breaks the immersion.

All in all, i’d say there’s still quite a bit of improvement left.

Thank you for the advice, I’ll take note of what you said for my next project.
Also various spawns are placed all around the map so that the player can explore the map more better, so that’s why you spawned at the side.
