Feedback on Game Trailer

Hello everyone, I’ve put up a Beta Version Trailer for my game and I want to know what I should change or add. Also one of my main worries is that there’s not going on with the music, but I still like it. Also if you want to, play my game and give me feedback here. it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

It’s just a compilation of screenshots.

For a trailer for a game, you’d expect to see some actual gameplay or video of the game.

I wouldn’t exactly call this a trailer only because it just uses screenshots and nothing else.

Oh I see, so I should add some cut scenes or something like that? Also is there anything I need to change with the music?

Hi! The game looks pretty cool!
Question tho will it eventually support console?

Thank you!
I’m planning to support console, I just have to figure out how to lay out the controls for it and how to actually script the controls for console. I’m probably thinking that it’s easier to do than it looks, but I will!
Is there anything you think that I need to change?

I just wouldn’t make a trailer with only screenshots or screenshots at all, and tips for video:

Considering this (seems) to be a horror game, have the trailer build up to something but don’t show much.

The whole trailer can be in 1 take or have cuts, it doesn’t really matter.

It also doesn’t directly have to show gameplay all the time, you can have some cinematic shots of the map using the camera mode (Shift + P while playing a game you have developer access on)

If you’re showing off features (Example: a randomly generated map) make sure to label it in the trailer, perhaps in one of the corners.

Thank you for the feedback! I will try my best to get out a new trailer and replace it with this. I don’t have a lot of experience with making trailers so I just did what came to mind first. Also to get the cinematic shots, would I do this in roblox studio or in the actual game?

It seems good by the pictures, but like @Chark_Proto said, it could use gameplay and show features in the trailer.

Hello. It’s nice seeing you’re willing to use this platform for some feedback for videos. If you’re looking for some thorough critique you could use in the future, and here are some…

  • The trailer, throughout, is a series of screenshots, you should consider adding movement to it like panning the camera back and adding light flickers to make it feel alive. (Cutscenes)
  • You should have gameplay clips following up the last one and interpolate between them. This creates the progression in time and therefore “montage”.
  • The composition and patterns of your video speaks for itself, I’m guessing based on the servers and capsule shown is a game similar to Flee The Facility
  • You should, beforehand, adjust the graphics to highest level to pop out the details of your game
  • At the end, I see a short CTA and it is nice, but you should have a slogan in second point of view calling someone to “discover” the horror background of the game. Mentioning beta is somewhat unnecessary and saying it is released is already enough.
  • A suggestion: Dutch Angle. The human eye isn’t used seeing what it is at the angle and causes tense and fear which intrigues people of the immersion into the game. Consider using that!

Overall, I think the builds in this game are acceptable and has really good potential, powerful to attract the audiences (and in this day and age where audiences are looking for visual languages and immersion) when the critiques are fulfilled.

Thank you for the feedback! I believe you’re right. I just don’t know how to make proper trailers but I will make it better based off your feedback

Thank you for all the feedback! I really appreciate it.
I will change it where there are cutscenes, the only reason I put screenshots is because I don’t have enough experience with this to actually know what to do, so this helps!

Also I have seen some people call my game similar to flee the facility, but I’m trying not to portray it as flee the facility but it’s own unique thing, so gameplay clips will be useful like you said.

Oh and the reason it’s still in beta is because I want to find all of the bugs and try to squash them out. Once I’ve gotten all of the bugs then I want to focus on adding more things, if I like it or if I don’t. Then I will release it fully and start adding more floors. I also want to plan to make trailers for the floors.

I think the second person calling the player to come play is really cool, thank you for the suggestion.

I never knew what the dutch angle was and this will help me a lot! Thank you!

And thank you again for taking the time to send me this feedback. I will take all of it and put it into action.
Thank you again!

This trailer looks good. It’s just screenshots though, so nothing exciting in my opinion. You should add some clips too if you can and want to.

Thank you for the feedback! I promise I will add more clips in the next trailer, as I am very close to fully releasing the game as of now. Once I add in two more key element systems, I will release the game and then work on making a better trailer than just a collage of screenshots
