Feedback On Game

Hello everyone!

After months of working on my game, I finally have a MVP (Minimum Viable Product) that people can now play! This game will be a racing game that I’m working on that will be similar to Forza Motorsport 7.

I would love if you would provide some feedback on my game.

I like the design of the track from the beginning to the end, but I have some concerns.

  1. Maybe have more vegetation like trees and some hills in the background of the place/map
  2. Not a concern but I tried to use the car but wouldn’t start since it’s a free model?

But it’s still great in every piece of the game, with the design, graphic. Nice job! :+1:

As @loueque said, the scenery could use work, you could try adding fog to take away from the need of detail of far away objects, even low poly mountains would fill in that empty void of environment, the controls are free modeled so it’s whatever ig but they need to be polished, the handbreak is too sensitive and tires waste easily, otherwise I enjoyed going around the track :+1:

You just need to put the car in gear, a lot of the racing games have the gear mechanics so I was used to already doing that and just taking off x)
Though the control are free modeled and other games either polish the same controls or have their own with similar features.

I have similar concerns to what @loueque said.

  1. Not enough foliage, the trees are decals and everything just feels flat. Also this kind of stuff happens.

Notice how the tree decals completely glitch out

  2. However, the cars do start (thanks @ImaginePowerq). The problem is there is no way to open the control menu to my knowledge. So there is no way to know how to put the car in gear. Also the handling is kind of crap, my complaints are similar to wait ImgainePowerq said.

  3. I think the cars should just be get in and go or simple complexity (I.e. just turning on the engine) instead of having to change gear and what not, it i just annoying have to switch it to reverse to just back up. I know this is how real cars work but I just find it annoying.

Overall, good concept. Just needs some more work.

Did you try clicking CONTROLS :persevere:
I assume you did, but mine opened up without problems :sob:

Oh alright, I just don’t know how to use those type of cars, just ones with WASD.

I did, I think I tried all the keys on my keyboard too.

Along with the issues already raised by those above who posted, I found that the hand brake (L shift) was not very balanced. For a fancy car I was expecting a cool drift but I guess since it is a free model that is the default setting. Try playing around with the script so the braking is strong enough to glide but won’t get you to 0 in half a second.

I like the track, it’s smooth and it has good turns, just wish I could make those turns with a nice drift.

About the track decal, how can I make the track look super detailed without making it lag a bunch?

Instead of using decals, I’d use something like meshes, find one off the library and you could use that. Meshes looks nice and they are way better for not causing lag I think, don’t quote me on that.

Either the car doesn’t work or the controls for it is to difficult.
I held down W to start the engines but how do i accelerate or switch gears after that?
