Hey everyone. What’s up? Just wanted to get some feedback on this unfinished car model of mine. I don’t think I’ll ever finish it because I’m having trouble with it a bit but I felt it wouldn’t hurt to get some feedback on when I do decide to work on it again.
So the car I’m modeling is actually a mid poly version of a car that appeared in 2 of Ubisofts other well known games known as Watch_Dogs and Far Cry. It appeared in both Watch_Dogs 1, Watch_Dogs 2, and Far Cry 5. In Watch_Dogs it was the Global Motors or GM Vessel, and in Far Cry 5 it was the 2008 Kimberlite Daralla. I found out someone had extracted the model and ported it to GTASA as a mod. I downloaded their mod, imported the file in Blender, removed the damage meshes, and rendered every angle as a blueprint and began working on my own version. I haven’t worked on it in a while, and I can tell you that pillar in the middle is fairly new. For comparison I included the original model as it appeared in Watch_Dogs 2 and Far Cry 5 and my version.
My model, with wireframe mode active so you can see the topology. I agree the topology isn’t great. it only has that separation in the hood because I’m using the mirror modifier and didn’t increase the clipping slider

According to an IGCD comment the Daralla kept the rambar from it’s police variant in WD1.
I don’t know if I will ever finish this model and if I do it’s very unlikely I will use it considering that even though I remade it it’s still part of some other game. But then again, Anomic got away with having GTA’s Stockade and Voodoo in game, so maybe I can too. I agree again, the topology isn’t great and the car as a whole probably needs more work. I struggle hard with modeling cars. Wow this thread is long.
