Hello! My friend and I recently created a clothing group on Roblox and a few weeks ago I started building the homestore. A month ago we were visiting homestores and there was this particular homestore that caught our attention. It’s really what sparked the idea of creating our own clothing group and developing a homestore. I’ve played the game Bloxburg for about 3 years now and I’ve found a passion for building, so I decided to take a step out of my comfort zone and try out building a homestore. It’s my first build on RobloxStudio and I would appreciate any feedback!
I also have a few questions and it would mean a bunch if you could help answer some of them.
What else can I do to reduce lag in my game?
How do I create a soft look on the game?
Is there any plugins I can install to create trees/vines/etc.?
Is there a model I can get to install “Nitenity Studios Top 15 Donators”? I’ve seen many of these in homestores, and I’m curious where builders get them.
You could add a plugin call “Roundify”, to help make better guis Roundify - Roblox
All I know about reducing lags are to merge parts together, or simply reducing the amount of parts
I do not know about the other two requests, so anyways, the build is great. However it has potentials, Like adding more decorations, perhaps making the windows to yellow to make it looks like people are inside, a frame behind the signs, ect.
Wow! That’s really amazing and detailed. Do you have some tips on making your homestore, and how you can make it look detailed? I made a homestore (You can check my activity to see) but I can’t really think of any good inspiration. Again, I really think your homestore is unique and pretty!
Nice build love the amount of important details and use of white and grey-ish color pallet the build sort of has a theme (monochrome) featuring different shade of colors normally focused on white with a grey-ish stone love how you chosen your own sort of style kind of looks like a town area featuring different clothing brands and other stores.
The builds are quite similar I’m assuming that’s the type of theme you’re wanting? They all sort of feature that one building type of theme the build in the first image could feature different shades of colors normally a grey stone with a black frame so the build doesn’t feature a plain white looking appearance. It feels odd that some of the buildings feature no details on the front appearance.
You could usually create vines with meshes, unions or parts or place a texture featuring different vines. If you’re wanting a more realistic part vine look this could be done with using a mesh part with a cylinder to create the stem part a good alternative would be using (Blender) and create a leaf part and just throw your stem throughout the model. “Are you wanting an easier approach since you’ve already made vines and foliage”?
Good use of interior objects to create that theme element. I’m not sure but does the buildings have interior or is that currently being worked on i would perhaps show images of the interior i see you included one but i’m assuming there is only one specific building that holds clothing?
This is a good creation love your unique idea creating something different from original homestores.
Looks amazing. Been making games for over a decade and I am not even able to build that.
Now, what causes lag is parts. Parts, parts, parts. Too many of them can cause a game to lag.
I’m sure there are many plugins for making greenery. You just got to find some. Be careful of some plugins!
I recommend enhancing the UI as it looks a way too basic. Try using UICorners to give a round-square type of shape. I believe they don’t work on TextBoxes.
Do not even try to create/take an anti-lag script. They never do anything. Instead go to the developer console > MicroProfiler to see what is causing the lag.
As I said previously, I’m not finished with the build but I will definitely jot a few of your ideas down and add them to the build! Thank you for the feedback and help, much appreciated.
You’d need to think of a theme of your homestore and put some thought into it. For me, I went to Europe last summer and that’s where I partially got my inspiration. I definitely recommend using Pinterest and creating a board on there. The website is filled with lots of inspiration and from there, I would sketch it all down. At first I thought I wouldn’t need a sketch, but fun fact I ended up covering my ideas and sketches on 4 pieces of paper. Lastly, don’t rush it. It may take days to think of inspo, but you will get that lightbulb above your head soon.
As for tips on creating a homestore and how I make it detailed, I would say looking at your sketch and your inspo pictures you based your sketch off of. Pay close attention to the details of your inspo pictures and try to recreate them on your homestore using the parts Studio provides (blocks, cylinders, spheres, etc).
Thank you for the feedback and the plugin. I hope some of my tips helps you with your homestore and good luck :))
Maybe add buildings outside the map to give the illusion of the map going on forever. Don’t just abruptly end the map. Otherwise WOW i love it. I cant believe its your first build, my first was trash.
I will definitely add more details to the front of some of the buildings.
Yes, I wanted to see if there was an easier way to create vines. Excuse me for the confusion.
This build only has 2 specific building that holds clothing. The main building (homestore) would be the pink and white building with the vines and the second building with an opening on the first floor (which I created to be a place where customers can take pictures/screenies) can be found in the corner of the 2nd photo provided. The rest of the buildings would be “prop” buildings.
Thank you for the feedback!
Gotcha! A friend of mines actually created the UI for me. He’s a beginner and offered to help since I have zero experience in creating a UI. I also have another question in you don’t mind answering it;
Is there a way to change the font of the buttons?
Otherwise, thank you for the feedback.
Aw haha thank you! I have thought about adding more buildings, extending the river, and dropping in mountains in the distance, but I also had the thought that adding more buildings could possibly add lag to the game. I was thinking of adding mountains on around the buildings and tunnels, thoughts?
I will definitely consider adding some darker shades in. Do you have any ideas on improving the water quality? I don’t have much experience with terrain, especially adding water. All I know about adding water would be changing the color and the opacity of the water.
Union and group Parts and Models
Add a blur in Lighting, and reduce it to about 2-3.
Tree Generator Plugins, find many on the Toolbox (be careful, some of these are dodgy).
Search ‘Donation Board’ on the Toolbox and grab the model with the most takes/votes.
The fact that it’s your first time using Roblox Studio really shows how talented you’re and how much I guess you could learn from Bloxburg. One question. Did you use free models or were all of this just made from scrap?
