First off, it looks really nice just by itself without the title of being a kampung. Honestly, it kind of seems more like a vibe game, like you said, rather than being a rural village.
The trees, well, look like tree’s you’d find in colder areas. Rainforest trees are much taller, and, I’m not sure how to put it, just feel more vibrant.
The white tree that you’re currently using is a birch, which is not found in Malaysia but rather in places like Europe and North America.
Try adding palm trees to make it feel more like a rainforest. And try adding more undergrowth, growth in the canopy, thicker trees. Etc.
Before I go on, I just want to say the aesthetic is amazing but does not give off a kampong feel.
If you’re truly going for a kampong feel, well, the last image provided looks sort of alright. The skybox is perfect. But what’s bothering me the most is how modern everything looks. Let me put in some images of kampungs:
With these images, you can tell the houses are often raised off the ground. And palm trees are very common. They do not look modern. They use wood and tile, more traditional materials. Right now you’re giving me a white concrete, sleek, contemporary look.

Honestly, my biggest peeve is that everything looks so modern. Including the blue house in the back. Now for a summary:
- Add palm trees, remove birch trees, and make the trees and undergrowth thicker.
- And stray from a modern look and aim for a rural, old-timey look.
Hope this helped, again! ヽ(^Д^)ノ
