Feedback On Lobby Room

Hi! I am currently making a lobby for my game!

I wan’t to know your current opinions on it.

Things like the bowl newe the stairarea will be removed or repurposed later on.

Main problem to me:
It’s REALLY empty, and I’m unsure on what to place in there, so I’d like help on what im there

I am waiting for feedback on this room.

It looks dark & empty… if i was a player waiting there, I’d be bored.

It’s intended to be dark (horror game) and I’m actually unsure what to put in the middle, so thats why it’s empty.

The user would use the buttons to navigate around the game

Its pretty empty with almost no lighting even if thats intentional the way the lighting is set up is quite poor, probably not inviting to newer players

Do you know a way to improve the lighting?

I’ll try to limit of the atmosphere (so more of it is visible)

Things feels to far away, it feels like too much work to get onto the other side of the room. Lobbies should be more inviting and possibly create suspense but not set out an eerie mood straight from the get go.

How many players are allowed in the lobby? If the amount allows it, maybe make the size of the lobby smaller to make up for the big amount of empty space.

40 people because VC works after that number

If you don’t mind me asking, how does your lobby work with your game? Does your lobby contribute to anything functionally in your game (like in story games where you can interact with an invisible wall in the lobby that puts you inside the teleporter) or is the lobby just for people to hang out and wait for friends to play the game and they would join via the user interfaces.

The user would be able to join using User Interface, they’re able to interact and get people to join their game.

This is one of the reasons why the ‘Play’ Button is the biggest

In my opinion, I think you don’t need to make your lobby too spacious then because it doesn’t seem like the players will be doing much in the lobby but just waiting for friends or talking to others. If you wanted to, you can spawn 40 rigs in the room and place them in a grid to see how much space 40 players would take up and work with that. The scene without players looks pretty empty but maybe with 40 rigs to imagine how it looks, it might not look as empty as you thought.
