Feedback on Melee System

I made a melee weapon system. It works as intended, and I’m looking for ways to improve the system.

There is only 2 tools right now. There are NPCs to fight on the baseplate. Keep in mind, I am not a good animator, so these animations may be bad.

The animations seem pretty linear, try moving more limbs (including the head!), and coming back to the idle state more gradually instead of quickly.

Im gonna be honest the animations arent really good make it so that the body movement is in sync with the melee movement

Ill give you an example

look at how the body is moving with the melee as the katana strikes, it makes the animation feel more heavy, realistic and it makes it appear like its having more impact

Maybe lower the sound of the katana a little…

I’m gonna try to recreate some animations and make them better. Also how would i achieve an impact effect? (Animation-wise, I know how to do the screen efect.)

I think I’ll lower the sound of most tools since it can be a bit too loud

Idk how you can make it but my suggestion would be to make it where the katana acutally has an impact where it hits the player, instead of it being how it is now where its just so boring and doesn’t feel like it has any impact when hitting a player

I have added an effect on hit, and edited some of katanas animations. I might remove the plank and replace it with a different tool.
