Feedback on music of my upcoming game - Club 61

I am working on a game with a couple of my friends, and I am working on the soundtrack for it. I made a track for the first mission/level of the game, and I would like to garner opinions on it. The setting is inspired by a nightclub, and I’ve made the music to fit. A fuller mix with more tracks will be in the game (as I don’t want the same thing playing). Anything you can criticise, be it mixing, mastering, composition, etc, is appreciated.

sidenote: wav/flac was too big of a file size, had to render as mp3. if you want to listen to it at full res (for some reason), DM me and i’ll send you the link

How about playing a baseline rhythm,

Then, as people near objects, you can have additional layers of sound play.

That way, you can adjust the intensity of the music to match whatever the person is doing.

Whilst yes, we will be adding an adaptive music system to most of the game’s levels, we do not believe it was necessary for the club’s sound system to be using this, and playing it on it’s own without alteration was simply enough for this. I am working on music for outside of the club, i.e entering from outside, which will involve this system. HOWEVER: I am working on having two tracks mix like a DJ controlling it.

Note: edited as I got my information jumbled up. apologies!

This sounds like a broken record… especially between 2:30 and 3:29… just repeating the same measure over and over again. It’s not something I would dance to unfortunately. Roblox has partnered with some musicians and got a lot more music on the platform, maybe you should consider checking those out!

Music is subjective: I get your opinion on this. However, all music is repetitive and techno (the subgenre of EDM we’re aiming for) is repetitive by nature: you need repetition to establish groove, to make it more hypnotic. I understand if you don’t appreciate it as this may be your first time listening, but I don’t have to convert you. That’s the style of music we’re going for.

I know, they’ve done this through Distrokid and Monstercat as far as I’m aware, however none of the music I’ve searched for has catered for this. On another note: the music they get from Distrokid is curated, and the people on Distrokid have to sign their music up for it.
