Feedback on my build

I recently made a build, but something seems off about it, and I can’t quite put my finger on it.

(The RV is a placeholder for now. I didn’t make it.)

I’ve messed around with ColorCorrection settings, blur, bloom, Lighting, you name it.

Any ideas on how to improve my build?

Are you more wanting a desert type of feel?

The lighting source added to the scene really brings out that evening color it’s just the blur, looks a little overwhelming consider bringing that down parts of the scene doesn’t look blurry mainly focusing on the objects it’s focusing on.

Look for reference what items it features I wouldn’t call it a build since not much hasn’t been done perhaps throw bones, rocks dried trees in the ground to create a better atmosphere the skybox looks fine have you tried experimenting into placing sun rays. There is a few things to give it that evening approach. Small cottage by nature are cars up against the house, adding things that make the place feel better can help a lot.

TL;DR You should add more height to the cactus, I’m assuming your waning feedback on the lighting you should try adding sun rays giving it that end of the day sunset glowing between the mountain parts it’ll improve the scene a bit more.

The mountains aren’t actually parts in 3D space. It’s part of the skybox. Should I make 3D mountains instead?

This really depends on whether is the best approach to go about or not. Creating 3D mountains is good it’ll take some time to get the perfect structure and the layout of the mountain and how high the density is going to be featuring trees, rocks and other items. As it relates to whatever approach your willing to go for. That being said, if your willing to place mountains as depth of field in the background then I would recommend going for it don’t take my word of advice see what suits your liking.

I noticed it was a sky box since the mountains look rather close and the effects are casting that blurry appearance in the background.

I agree. Its pretty blurry for the build. Consider turning it down a little bit. There is not much detail on it, because all it has is an RV and a desert skybox. How about some bones, dried plants maybe, and maybe adding cottages to your builds like these:

I also have to agree on the cactus. It looks really small for an RV. Consider bringing it higher so that it looks pretty much more like a cactus.

I followed some of the advice I was given, and I think it looks better now. I also added some sunrays, but they aren’t visible in the picture.
Anything else I should add?

By the way, when I’m finished with the build, you’re going to be able to go inside the RV and the main build will be in there. The desert is not the main build; it’s only for atmosphere.

I’m assuming the sun rays aren’t visible because your graphics render may not be turned to max quality. What is your graphics set to?

I think not much needs to be added since what i’m assuming it involves more items that’ll be already placed down such as trees and dried grass and other props perhaps miss with the particle system to create a dust effect if your build features windy effects.

I’ll try making other variety of cactus instead of a part you resized and duplicated around the area, (cactus don’t feature similar identical objects) since this is just experimenting with the atmosphere you could possibly take this suggestion later down the line or however you like

The dessert gives a sort of, “Cold” Feel… But im guessing its supposed to represent a dessert. I recommend removing a little of the blur.

No, they aren’t visible because the sunrays are out of frame in the picture. My graphics level is max on both edit and play mode.

Thanks for the feedback.

The lighting colour strikes me as a bit too pink, but that might just be me
