Feedback on my clothes as a beginner designer! [4 Months progress]

 Hey there ! Hoping to reach out to other clothing designers of the community! Today I’m wishing to showcase some of the best designs I have made so far in my progress of 4 months in total.

I’ve been trying my best to start and grow my group Bloxquility Wear (partnered with @Bloxquility) . And also have in plan to run some advertisements for it, so I really need to know if the clothing it provides is worth being advertised.

Here are the displays of 4 of my best clothing sets so far !

ANY feedback is welcome and I would really appreciate it if you’d leave a reply with what do you think, any advice you can give… It’d be really helpful as I’m just starting out.
Thank you for your time!

Beginner? More like intermediate/advance.

Keep working on designing if you think that this is something you enjoy and are passionate about. You will go places.
I also recommend getting a job at a larger group:

It’s a bit hard to see because of the watermark, but yeah those all look great!

It really depends on what software you use for this kind of feedback, but heres what I noticed in each of the designs:

  1. This actually looks really good! I would suggest shading a bit more on the white top, and the bottom of the jeans (the folded part) since that looks a little unnatural compared to the rest of the jeans

  2. This also looks really good as well! The only thing I notice here is the very extreme shading on the tuxedo lapel. I also think it should go up a bit further and end on the neck (on the top of the design), since that’s what tuxedos usually look like. So I would just tone down the shading on the edges of the lapel, and bring it up further.

  3. Really really good for a beginner! I would say that the skirt is a little low, which is fine but I prefer high-waisted clothes lol, I think they look a bit better, but that’s a personal preference. I also notice that the shading on the top is a bit extreme, you probably shouldn’t make it seem like the character has defined “curves” like that. I would also suggest blending the shading on the arms to look more natural. I think you should also add shading on the skirt, and I can’t tell if that’s a free skirt template or not (if it isn’t, great job on that! If it is, I suggest practicing more on your own to get the hang of things).

  4. This one is really great! I love the theme and color. Anyways, I think you could add a bit more shading around the edges, and wrinkles on the leg and shirt. Maybe some shading or more detail on the shoes as well.

These are really good designs for a beginner!! I’m very impressed. I would suggest for all of them to add more wrinkles (if you’re going for a more natural look), and make sure to not add too much shading or too little shading. It all really does depend on the software you’re using, but watch some speed designs on youtube! You can learn a lot of new tips and tricks on a lot of things there.

Keep up the good work

I don’t really do outfits in this style (I personally think it looks a bit - generic? Maybe that’s not the right word, but I can’t think of anything better, so I’ll use it), but you seem to be doing pretty well for starting off with it. I’d just recommend outfits like #1 and #3 less of a blocky look (although that can be hard, a few of my early outfits had the same sort of problem).
But, for example, you could make the area covering the top of the torso on #3 curve with the body a bit, kind of like how the skirt is.

As @ixArcher mentioned before, you should try to keep linework on your outfits consistent - the skirt on #3 is a bit jarring in comparison to the rest of the outfit, which essetially has no drawn lines on it. It’s a matter of preference which style you do end up choosing, but I would reccommend one with at least minimal linework, since it makes the detail in your outfits a lot stronger generally.

Another thing, when you’re doing showcase templates like that - I would recommend that you don’t put lines between each part of the showcase. Why? Because it helps to show connectivity between parts when people are looking at it, and you can also use it to make your outfit look better by drawing parts of it that way.

Finally, putting watermarks on showcase templates is - in my opinion, kind of useless. Even if somebody steals the showcase, they’re not going to be able to reconstruct the original outfit from it (missing at minimum top, sides, and bottom of each part) unless they already had the skill to make an outfit from scratch to begin with - and at that point, why steal it?

That’s about it though - you’re doing pretty well for being early in. Most of my advice is just nitpicks, but basically all I do is nitpick, so, there you have it.

Amazing. The best part are the prices. If your prices are low and your product is being bought like crazy maybe go a bit more up but don’t surpass like 5-20 :robux:. Another thing watermarks are good but you over did it and made it hard to see your work.

2nd to Lastly make clothing of all styles. Here you have a few nice common styles. Try to make Nike hoodies and stuff like that.

Lastly if you want customized orders or more orders definitely make a portfolio and get devs to but your work.

Everything consider keep up the good work. If you work hard you will have a great future. I have become a member of the group and am looking forward to seeing your designs.

They are all pretty nicely made designs, my suggestion would be to not use small text on any piece of clothing (specifically referring to the 3rd design).

A side note: While working on designs (from my experience) I think it’s better to remove separation lines from the template/boarder.

I personally don’t believe people should be making name brand clothing such as Nike like you suggested. Name brand clothing could easily be taken down for copyright in the future.

Thank you! It really is what I enjoy, I’m highly passionate about what I do!
I have thought about that but I’ve gone for a group with more variety in style but thank you for the advice!

Thank you for so much feedback, it’s really helpful! Yeah the watermark’s I was thinking how transparent to make them and made them a bit too visible, I’ll lower it down so it’s easier to see them next time. I use mainly paint.net but sometimes pixlr e.
1-Thank you so much! The white top I’ll definitely consider more detail to and the folded part I noticed on my avatar once I uploaded it seemed unnatural, so I’ll fix that.
2-The shading I was afraid I’d under do so I think in that awareness of not under doing it, I added a bit too much, I’ll definitely lower that. And yeah, I’ll bring it up a bit.
3-Thank you! Yeah it is rather low but once I uploaded the pieces and wore them, they matched better than I thought, but in future I’ll definitely make them high waisted! The shading on the arms I need to spend more time on for sure and it’s not a free template, I just drew out the lines and made it as realistic as I could really. ((Yeah I’d like to improve on skirts as I really like how they look!))
4-I’ll consider some more detail and shading!
Thank you a lot for all the feedback! Yeah I often look for speed designs as I find them really helpful!

Thank you for all the feedback! Yeah I’m trying to aim for attractive and fairly realistic so I’ll definitely fix up that sort of blocky look they have.
I’ve never done lots of linework before so I think it could really improve my work, so I’ll definitely try that out.

I put them there to try and make the outfits stand out more but I’ll remove the lines separating the legs and arms from the torso so it’s easier to see the outfit!

I looked around the devforum for how others presented their displays and got an idea of how to do it and tried to make it unique in some way but the watermark I can definitely see I’ve done too boldly! Yeah the reason it’s their is in fear of work being stolen but I’ll definitely make it a lot less visible in future!
Thank you a lot for all your feedback! It’s really helpful for me!

Thank you!!
All my clothing pieces are 5 robux each, for a while I was thinking about prices but thought 5 robux is the best way to go! Yeah as I’ve said in my previous replies, I’ll definitely lower the visibility of the watermarks.
About that, I try to make my clothing unlike any classic brands such as Nike but thank you for the suggestion! Customized orders aren’t really what I’m hoping to do, I’m aiming to have a successful clothing group of my own!
Thank you so much for joining and saying all you have!

Small text has often been a problem for me in the means of it getting pixelated so I try not to add too much small text!
Yeah as @Iskender_Argead said as well, I’ll definitely remove them! Thank you for the feedback!
