Hello, I’m currently working on an elevator game. So far there are around 20 maps. I’ve tested out sponsoring with regular sponsors and also search ads. With regular sponsoring I noticed the average playtime is around 6-8 minutes, with search ads it’s around 3-4 minutes which is significantly worse. Also, my D1 retention isn’t that good being around 1% so I need to figure out a way to fix that.
I would love to hear feedback on what I could do to improve the game and to increase retention and playtime.

I played your game and I feel confident enough to say that it needs a lot of work if you want it to succeed.
When I first joined, I was instantly confused about where to go. The lobby is cluttered and the layout is a bit odd. The shop, which is located in the lobby, needs be to revamped. Players shouldn’t have to use buttons to purchase in-game items. You should add some shelves in the shop and put the items that players can buy on them… like this:
The UI also could be improved. It honestly looks cheap.
In addition, the “Kill All” and “Spawn NPC” buttons seem out-of-place. I’d move them to the game pass shop.
When I finally figured out how to join a round, I was baffled. There was no tutorial and no time to survey my surroundings before I was killed by a monster. On the following floors, I wasn’t sure what to do. There was absolutely no indicator of what I was supposed to be doing. From what I saw though, the floors all seemed generic.
Overall, I’d say your game lacks purpose and doesn’t have a clear objective, therefore, I’m not shocked your game hasn’t been doing too well.
