Hi everyone! I recently started experimenting with blender again and creating GFX’s. This is the first time I opened blender in 2 years, and I would like some feedback on this quick little (really basic and overdone) GFX I made in less than an hour.
A few notes to keep in mind:
*I used blender 2.79 as opposed to 2.82 because I just can’t get the hang of it (so that may have a difference in quality)
*My editing software is Medibang Paint Pro
Okay, so here is the random GFX I made. I would just like some feedback on the editing and rendering.
(Yes, I just noticed the zig-zag shirt sleeve, but what can I do now)
Probably. I’d just recommend fiddling around with different colors and see what works the best. If anything, a darker border around lighter text also does the trick.
It looks like either you added contrast to the character while editing, or the lighting itself in Blender was very strong. Personally, I think there is too much glare, especially on the character’s head; it’s most obvious on the hair, since the light washes out some of the texture, though this is easily fixable.
There are also a few shadows that seem out of place along the outer edges of the character, since it seems like the lighting is only present directly infront of the character. What kind of lighting system do you use? If you aren’t already, it might benefit you to experiment using HDRIs or lightrooms, which will provide nicer and more natural lighting on your render.
It looks like you’re hardbending the limbs, which can present a number of problems.
As for the zig zag on your t-shirt sleeve, that most likely happened when you were bending the arm and selected unwanted vertices. If you learn to use rigs, the limbs will bend smoother and won’t alter the character texture too much.
The text does blend a bit with the background, but I think if you add a drop shadow and / or stroke it will look more apparent. I’d keep the text in the color scheme of your render.
This is a really pretty render! Keep practicing and you’ll come up with great results!
Hello I’m PictureFolder a Amateur Graphic Designer.
Welcome back to the GFX Community! Here’s some feedback.
1. Lighting, there are many amazing lighting tutorials from Blender Guru. To any other great Blender lighting tutorial. I think the lighting is a just a basic light adding harsh shadows and overexposing the face. I highly suggest taking some time to look into learning Blender lighting, it can make any render 3x better.
2. Bending, I’m quite positive there are some rig tutorials and rigs free to use, using a rig in general will make a more anatomy-correct render, and it’ll look a bit better. Allowing better rotation and posing.
3. Effects & Background, although the background is nice, it blends in with the model a little bit and makes the whole design a little too bright, honestly you could just turn the brightness down a bit and it’d look very good. the effects and font are perfectly fine. Great choice for a font by the way.
I love the model, and I am excited to see future work from you. Keep up the very nice GFX!
