Just made my first low poly gun on blender. I am very proud of it.
(It’s a KG-9)
Looks very nice! Personally I would add a bit more detail on the barrel such as the iron sights or the holes that are typically in the barrel, apart from that it looks very good.
Well, I hope your going to be adding color, A scope or one of the small things that help you aim with would be a nice detail to put on the sun. Also a silencer or something too.
Thanks for the feedback! You’re right I should add some more detail to make it look better.
Don’t worry, I will be texturing it soon and maybe a scope would be a good idea. Thanks!
This is amazing for your first gun. The only recommendations I have is to round up the trigger guard/handle a bit,
The other suggestion would be to add more detail to the barrel by adding iron sights and the holes in it,
Hope this helps!
That’s pretty good, however, you should shoot for more detail and add scopes to it and stuff. With more textures, it will be really realistic!
Thanks for the suggestions, I will be working on the details.
thanks! I am working on the detail to make it look a lot nicer.
The biggest tool to your first time gun models is to use real world blueprints (pictured). When you’re recreating weapons, vehicles, etc based off of actual models, you’re encouraged to use these references to make the gun as accurate as possible.
And just because its low poly doesn’t mean you have to limit yourself completely, you can
slip in quite a few more details without compromising much performance. Go nuts!
Otherwise for a first attempt, I would say this was a very successful shot, as you nailed the general shape of the weapon, making it instantly recognizable.
I look forward to seeing more of your future works, good luck!
Is the cylinder (barrel) inside the cube (frame)?
Also, make the grip look nicer, with a certain texture in it as shown above.
Could you provide pictures of the real life gun?
