Feedback on my first piece of 2D art?

Just finished one of my first pieces of 2D art wanted to get some feedback and some tips and tricks thank you. This took me about 35 mins to and hour. Had a few examples opened while I was working on it but most of it is just my imagination.

I really like this, but the walls of the gold is a bit too jagged.

Maybe try not making everything Gold.

8/10

It looks great! 8/10 To make it look nice add white to the metal part of the picaxe.

Looks really good! I like the cartoony style you used for this. I would give this a 8.5/10. Good job overall!

Very good, try making the place where the pickaxe is darker.

Not too sure why, but something seems off. It might be the size of the blade, it’s a little small on the left side, but overall its pretty good. It’s a little cramped though, try giving the pickaxe a little more space, and make the edges of the rock a little less spikey.

8.5/10. Overall, looks really nice. Perhaps consider changing a few of the gold pieces to other colors that compliment it well?

I agree with you there. I get the theme you are going for but the walls are a bit too crazy.

Experiment with hue shifting and layer modes- instead of shading with a darker shade of the base colour, change the hue to give it a really nice look. Layer modes such as multiply extremely help when it comes to this!
Also, try to work on your lines. They’re a bit crooked and jagged and using a stabilizer can make them smooth. Colouring your line art with an alpha lock layer/clipping layer can also make the colouring really pop!

^ Just some general colouring tips!!
