Feedback on my first spacecraft fighter

ABOUT
I decided to test my building skills and create a space fighter, the shape took me about 2 hours to resolve on this attempt. It’s not alot of time but there were a couple attempts previously. Since this is my first type of this kind of vehicle with the style I’ve made it, I wanted to know what I can improve on based on the shape.

WHAT I’M LOOKING FOR
Does it convey that it is a multipurpose space fighter?
Are there any disproportions or inaccuracies that you can notice?

What are some details that I can add to this without having to work into the shape too much? It’s essentially just a skin with no skeleton and I feel like moving the parts to add stuff to it will be too much work.

This is my first ever aircraft/spacecraft I’ve made so I appreciate all kinds of feedback that can help me improve on this!

UPDATE
I haven’t had much time to work on it, but here’s where I’ve got so far with the given feedback.

Hope to get started on the underbody soon adding some landing gear and hatches for the weapons to be stowed, will add more detail to the top however not sure what else I could add.

Anyways, I appreciate the feedback I got and hope to improve my builds with it!

I really like it I also would suggest making it in blender or export it to blender then re-import as a mesh to prevent lag. Also some boosters would be nice and or guns would be nice. Thanks from John.

Criticism

  • Currently, the only purpose for this is flying because I see no guns which shoot bullets.

  • The front looks a little bit weird. The hole doesn’t fit in my opinion.

  • The wings on the back can be bigger.

  • You can add engines. So far, this vehicle only glides.

  • Try adding an outline of a door.

  • Add decorative lines or windows on the body to make it less plain.

  • Experiment with color.

Compliments

This is honestly amazing for a first build. However, be cautious about the part count included in this build for projects like this. Refrain from using plugins like GapFill too much. Try using blender.

Excellent start! Build more creations and try blender if you haven’t already.

Good luck!

Hello, thanks for the given feedback I appreciate it. I just wanted to ask if you have any tips on how I could add decorative lines to this since the shape is quite complex. How should I go around adding lines that look seamless? Is there a plugin that can help me with that? Thanks!

What I mean by decorative lines is basically something like this:

They really make it stand out. You can just use regular parts and a lot of rotation, or use decals if
individual parts are large enough to present lines shown in the picture.

kinda looks like a Quinjet from the Avengers

Looks very good for a space craft think, maybe you could add some numbers on the wings, more details.

Your model surely gives a Multipurpose Fighter aesthetic, specially if one is used to modern military aircraft (I’m referencing the lack of exposed weapons and continuous - triangular shapes)…

I do feel like, though, that you could use some more detailing, specially to the wings and bottom.

“Decorative lines” would look really nice, specially if you work with segments, like the ones you can see in F-35s, for example.

On the tail section, I really think having two engines/boosters would make it even cooler! :rocket:

I’ll also go with DJ and say that the front bit looks a little odd.
It could be replaced with weapons, a camera/sensors or just removed.

P.s: That’s a very fine job for the first time working on an Spacecraft, keep it up!

Thank you for all the feedback on this, I found it really helpful and will be adding more onto the spacecraft. For now I’ll leave this picture with work in progress on the engine and the RCS thrusters. Also working on some missile models in the background but I’ll add those when I start working on the underbelly.

It looks good, but it has some design choices that confuses me.

I can’t see any kind of landing gears, and the ship lacks weapons to use. It is also just 2 colors, so it is hard to make out the shape of it from some perspectives.

Here are some tips to make that amazing spacecraft fighter better!!!

  • Add weapons

  • Add a boost at the back of the spacecraft

  • Give it some color

That are the only things that i can think of! Good luck.

It looks pretty neat. Try add some more details, that would look good!

Looks sick! As many people said, detail is key! With detail to spaceships, I would add some scuffs and scratches and make the paint of the spaceship look rough and damaged, as the reality would be that it would get scuffed very quickly (due do it being space with tiny rocks and asteroids in the way).

It’s beautifully done, good job on it.

Wow! Literally my first reaction when I saw this for the first time, good job! it’s AMAZING.
