Recently I have been working on a game heavily inspired by Martijn Kunst’s Raft Wars. I was wondering if I should continue it. Here are some screenshots:
The screenshots look nice. I would say to continue it. Completing a game gives satisfaction of a finished project. A recent stupid concept of ours called Monkey Poop was just a projectile test concept but has ended up getting visits and repeat plays, so people will find and play your game if it is fun. Finish it now.
Hey!
I like the game so far, brings back lots of memories from my days in Coolmath here is a few things
The path of the projectile would help to make it curved with trajectory and fade in transparency towards the end.
You could potentially add a “star rating” at the end of each levels for players to see how good they went up to expectations, and potentially come back to do better in different levels.
On the main menu, I like the little moving “Raft Wars” with the ropes but I’d like it if the ropes were not visible and there was something to constantly move it.
The only point where it felt clunky was when the AI shot the projectile and the pause between your turn. That pause imo was a bit too long and it took slightly longer to regain control of your trajectory. If you shoot before this loading time is over, the game will just count it as if it has always been loaded in
