Im going for a basic/minimal type UI and I’d like to know your feedback on what more to add/change.
Currently I have a hotbar, a crafting and inventory ui, and in the middle is a player headbust with a radial healthbar.
In bright backgrounds like the sky, you can see some parts of the white text that clip outside blend into the background, making it hard to read, add an outline/dark outline, you can decide to make it fully opaque or transparent, the more opaque, the more it is easier to read. This should fix that readability issue.
Make the icons a tad smaller if you’re going for minimalism, its a tad large and fills essential screen space.
The icon choices like the backpack compared to the anvil design dont fit well. The anvil has no outlines/heavy details whereas the backpack is jam packed with details top to bottom, make sure you have consistency, just try removing the outlines and simplifying the shape, add transparent lines if needed.
Finally, what is the player icon in the middle for? If its for a healthbar, its a tad obstructive. What you can do instead is just make a rounded line on the top of the inventory and make it small, non-obstructive yet still readable, plus, you can resize it depending on how much health the player has. This will help with players who have colorblindness issues and etc.
And if you want to make it even more readable, increase the size of the fonts/text as well so people with dyslexia can read it easier, this should increase availability to people who want to play your game.
