Currently im experiencing something really weird. Almost everyone who joins my game leaves in under 2 minutes? Its quite weird and seems like nobody gives it a chance. Just hoping to get some feedback on:
when joining the game, is the ui tutorial clear enough?
Is the game fun to play?
Is this a normal thing with other experiences?
I also changed the Icon and thumbnails back to the old one since it might be misleading with the current one as u said. And that might make people leave.
I joined it and yeah. People left and joined. From what I know, players are joining then leaving either because the game’s not enjoying enough (not hooking the player to keep playing)
My second conclusion is that since there are not enough players, the games cannot start as players keep getting uninterested and leaving, which means players never actually get to experience a round. (You should shorten the round starting time to around 5 or 10 seconds) The lobby also looks kind of messy for an ordinary player. (Judging based off Forsaken or Murder Mystery)
I see, tje issue is its literally impossible to get the lobby numbers up since players leave so quickly. What do you think is making the players disinterested?
Really liked the knife loading screen when I joined. But like the other guy said I was really lost on what this game is about. When I load in I am bombarded with a bunch of buttons and a tutorial that is ticking down which made me really confused.
From a art perspective, the map feels really dead and lacking energy when I join the game, everything feels dark and desaturated. You said this game is similar to something like MM2, when you spawn into MM2 the lobby and maps are bright and catches your attention. Maybe make the map pop more to hook me into playing? Vibes sometimes make a difference on whether a new player sticks around or not.
Though I thought the icons were cool, but there was just too much UI for me to understand quickly as a round started right as I joined, and the round ended before I realized I was supposed to find some candle
Also, a good rule of thumb is study successful games in your genre and analyze why that game works and why do players want to play it, and try to incorporate that into your own project. I don’t think the map is the most significant issue with your game. There is a lot of room for improvement in teaching new players (kids) how to play your game while keeping their attention span.
I completely agree, im sure there are a lot more issues than that. The thing is there are a lot of brain rot games and games that make no sense on the platform that still gain players.
Do you think this game’s flaws are so bad that it cant build a playerbase?
I can’t really tell you if your game is so bad that it can’t gain any players from just playing it for a few minutes. There are certainly flaws but that doesn’t mean you have to restart your entire game.
Most brainrot games actually fail, the ones you see with a ton of players usually have a fun gimmick that separates itself from other games from its genre (or they just get extremely lucky). Though these type of “brainrot” games often have bright and sometimes sexually implicit thumbnails which attracts a ton of kids (Roblox’s main playerbase). I don’t think these games make no sense on the platform, they just hit a certain type of player just right to maintain a consistent CCU
Also out of curiosity could you let me know some flaws you see in the gameplay? I made the map brighter so hopegully that allows them to stay longer in lobby
The game is very well made and the cutscenes and stuff just that for a new player like me I don’t understand the game it’s not “New player friendly” to say…
