I recently posted a feedback topic and got tons of ideas and support! I spent a few days redoing this game and I’m ready for some more feedback
For now, it isn’t too bad. But there’s some improvements that can be made.
-
Change up the tree variation, include different types of trees and/or change the colour of the trees so it doesn’t look copy and pasted.
-
Add wooden side borders on the water stream and the pool/lake
-
Also add some colour variation on the stone paths and rocks
-
Add lighting. Lighting in your place can substantially change the look of your area, giving it more of a cartoony look and feel.
-
Possibly add grass onto the floor.
-
Give the place some area of levels. What I mean by this is that you should add hills and things relating to this. This can give players more areas to explore, instead of it being a flat plane.
Add fish to the waters get them to swim around. Just for something to look at but shows the place has some life in it.
Simple hint at start. Go the camp fire, toast mushy and chill.
Change mushy colour from white to brown over time.
Looks better than it used too as you have added things like flowers and rocks I’d say make a few more tree variations and then maybe a few wooden log houses or something like that for players to go inside.
It looks like it’s supposed to be in the mountains? Try finding a mountain skybox in the toolbox!
Well… it’s not bad. But certain aspects are a bit too much plain for my taste, I recommend adding a little more detail and accessories to the game and it would improve it by a lot! Otherwise, good.
I already posted this on your first post of this hangout, but i’ll post it here too incase you won’t check there.
"I played your game, and I think it’s pretty good for a start. But, I have a few suggestions. I hope you’ll be happy to hear them!
-
When I had tried to go near the water/lake area, the water was solid! Maybe you could turn the collision of the water off, and maybe change the texture to Ice, so it looks more like water.
-
I feel like the game would have a better environment if you add quiet and peaceful music to add along with the nature ambiance. For example, a song with a guitar.
-
I feel as you should add a few more tools the player could use, for example, a lantern, (if you add a day/night cycle, that is,) and maybe a backpack or a camera. The backpack or camera don’t have to be functional, it will just add more things the players could roleplay with.
That’s all I would add for your game! I feel that this would be a successful game. Keep working hard!"
