Feedback on my GFX

Beginner GFX artist here!
I just wanted some feedback on my first few GFX creations! I just started yesterday and I want to know what I can improve on and I’d like to know some of your opinions on what you think of them!

I edited the second and fifth ones with Pixlr. For the fourth one (kitchen), I just took a free model out of the toolbox and exported it. For all of them, I used Blender. I’d love to hear feedback and out of all 5 of them, which one do you think is the best/your favorite?

A major tip, black outfits on black background isn’t a good idea! Also keep in mind not to bend limbs too much else it starts looking a bit weird >.<

Good for a start though!

Yeah! For the first and third ones, the legs really blended into the background. :sob:

Anyways, I’ll keep that in mind! Thanks for the feedback. :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Awesome! Just one doubt, which rendering engine are you using? Evee or Cycles? Because the light seems very opaque, so maybe you could try to touch up on that? Otherwise, amazing work! Keep it up! :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

I’m using Eevee! I’ll try to fix the lighting. Thanks for the feedback.

Great work! You could use an HDRI to add a bit more lighting in the render though.
A good place to get them is from HDRI Haven

Thank you! I tried using HDRI Haven but for some reason, they come out so blurry and I didn’t want my character to look like it was floating in the sky in Blender. I’ll figure out how to fix it though. :sob:

Good for a start, keep it up. :+1:

There are many tutorials on how to make simple environments that would fit very well with a HDRI.
Great work!

Great work! :woot:

But one thing, i recommend you use Cycles because that makes everything look better. Also, you can use some HDRI’s to bump up your lighting!

Other than that, you are pretty good! Keep it up :smiley:

Looks alright for a start, but here are some suggestions:

Work on lighting, it seems you are rendering in Eevee with only using one point light, which makes the shadows look bad and pixely.

Second of all work on posing, make more dynamic poses by moving the upper torso and lower torso, move the arms a bit and just make it a bit more natural, third of all I don’t recommend using PIXLR for editing, I highly suggest photoshop, and if you cant afford you can use photopea or GIMP,

You also have to work on composition, or basically tell a story.

Also don’t use HDRIs, for scenes I use Area light over the whole scene and a sun lamp to give a bit of shadows. There might be other ways but this is a very easy one.

But I rate your GFXs 6/10, might seem a bit harsh but for your first GFXs there are very nice.

Seems really nice, you made,
Only the black background on black clothes is kinda bad

It’s good, I recommend changing the color of the lighting to something warmer, though. Good luck!

Seeing that you mentioned that you use Evee I immediately recommend using Cycles, also for the background, try experimenting with colors and textures, white and black aren’t the most appealing sometimes, PBRS are game changing so I’d recommend using them too! Over all really decent, you just need to do what was stated above and you’ll be good to go, good luck!

The 4th one is kinda dark, maybe change the lighting.

OML you made a blender, in BLENDER! Its genius!!!

Seriously though epic GFX!

Good job,
I’d work on lighting, because right now the shadows look messy.image

YEAAH. I noticed that and I didn’t know what was wrong with it but I’ll try fixing the shadows.

The shadows on this one are too harsh, like they’re lit in a studio. I think the light should be above them, and the radius of the light should be increased.

Overall It’s nice for the first time making GFX. The second is a bit too pixelated though. Also for the lighting try using an HDRI. One last tip would be using the shader editor to add texture.
