Feedback on my in-development FPS game, Freefire!

Hello! For the past month or so, me and my partner @Kieran_K29 have been working on a FPS game, called Freefire, that we hope has enough quality to take off! We are hoping to base it off of Arsenal and Randomizer. You must get to a certain kill count like in Arsenal, except unlike it your weapons randomize every life. Since we have such high hopes for it we need the judging eye of the devforum to help us make sure that we have quality UI, maps, weapons, and even ideas! This is what we have so far:

  • Working skin system
In Freefire we want there to be a ton of customization options similar to all other popular FPS games. Therefore I have scripted it so that you can equip different skins through a value that gets checked in the lobby. It then morphs your character into that skin using humanoid descriptions! Unfortunately we haven’t designed the menu for equipping cosmetics yet, but we do have plans to make one! Here are some shots of the skins:

  • Shop
If your having cosmetics you have to have a way to obtain them, therefore we have made the shop for Freefire! It currently doesn’t function as we aren’t sure whether to have it randomize daily, randomize in crates, or just act as a standard shop. However it uses camera manipulation to attach the camera to a part that looks at a built shop, I then overlayed it with some UI to eventually help add function to it! In addition the person inside of the shop changes positions randomly to add a fun feel to the shop! This is what we have so far:

  • Lobby UI
This, along with the round system, has been the majority of our work. We have used camera manipulation once again to position it on a build. However in this lobby you can walk around in it and emote, which can allow players to test out there emotes/animations! This is what we have done so far:

  • Maps
We currently have 3 maps, before our builder left… DM me if interested to build maps  However I personally am pretty proud of them. There isn’t too much to say about them.
This is what we have done so far:

Grasslands

Beach

House

  • Round+Voting system
In our round system I had to script in voting system so that people can more frequently get a map that they like, although I did randomize which maps are chosen to be voted on, so it is still slightly randomized. This also checks when players are in the lobby, so it wont teleport them unless they are in the round. It has a few bugs to work out, but other then that it works great! Nothing to show as this is mostly script-based.

Now the main reason I made this post is so that we can get feedback on our creations and ideas! First off, if you have any suggestions to make this game more fun, or more unique please comment and let us know! I’ll also set up some polls so we can know how to improve. Please remember, any feedback is much appreciated!

Also let us know if you have any good monetization strategies we can equip our game with. Thank you for everything in advance! Hopefully your feedback and ideas can help us get our game popular!

The problem here is that the lobby map looks quite unrealistic, which can cause your game to look like a copy of another game.

Yes, it can. The UI lacks quite a bit of gradients and the text might be difficult to read from a mobile user’s perspective. Speaking of mobile, how am I supposed to tap the bottom-left button without doing finger acrobatics?

And if you’re not releasing for mobile, you won’t have as many players as you’d like. It’s worth it.

Where do you suggest that I move the buttons in order to fix this?

How should I implement the gradients and how can I fix the text being difficult to read?

Wow! Very good, it would be better if it had shadows on the buttons

The gradients you will need to do yourself. For mobile, I suggest adding a menu that’s easy to touch that contains all the smaller buttons/options.

How does this look?

I actually like it! I’m not sure if “Equip emotes” is really important enough to have on the side and not the menu, but I like the menu.

Oh my bad, meant to change that earlier. I was stuck between using the name Locker or simply just put it as Equip? What’s your thought on this?

Thanks for the kind words

I would categorize them all into a separate inventory menu, so that you can have emotes, and possibly any other form of obtainable object in the future.

Time for an update! My animator @Kieran_K29, recently built a Mansion map for Freefire! The main point of this map was to make it slightly bigger then the other maps to see how it might feel in combat. Now that he has finished I’d like you guys to help us out a little with how to improve it!

Still looking for a map builder! Dm if interested…
