Feedback on my low poly assets I made in Blender

Heyo! I started 3d modeling in blender recently, I modeled a rock and a tree. I’d like to hear your feedback on them. (They are inspired from Pet Ranch Simulator 2)

Thanks for your time.

Epic for the first time! I would definitely recommend watching some tutorials on youtube and more practice.

Hi @ZvClaw, if you’re a beginner building such thing like this. This is a very good start.
As you slowly progress, you might want to learn more advanced building, including solid modelling.
Your tree is not actually tree because it’s just plain plastic material made of.

I would suggest that you change the material type for tree trunk to wood plank and tree leaves to grass type. That will make even more realistic design.

Very good keep up the good work!

I’m glad you got some inspiration from my map!

I will note that the meshes really aren’t low poly at all - in fact they’re some of my highest poly count trees I’ve ever made :stuck_out_tongue:

Granted anything using the Skin modifier is bound to have a lot of polygons

And remember, “low poly” isn’t a style. These assets are just smooth shading to look less complex in this situation and to make things look fuzzy and rounded, a style choice I was shooting for during development :stuck_out_tongue:

All things considered, great start to modelling! Keep it up!

Thanks for replying! I really like the overall cartoonish style of the Pet Ranch Sim 2 map, everything just blends in so well. I’ll keep trying to get better at modelling.

Would higher poly counts affect the load time in-game too much? I was a bit concerned about that.

This is pretty good! Keep practicing!
