Thanks for your feedback it really sums up most of the flaws
Looks great, but I’d suggest adding grass poking out of the ground, doing so wouldn’t make the ground look so plain. Some more things you can add to the ground are tiny hills and plants/flowers. Another thing you could add is rocky mountains around the low-poly town. A few other issues are the trees, all of the current trees are the same or they’re only different because of the scaling on them, make different trees and it will overall look better. I think you did very well on each and every building, but my favorite is the shack considering the amount of detail put into it, great job! I love all of the different colors put into this town and it isn’t just some plain boring town with very little difference in color. Can’t wait to see future updates.
I love this, but from a player’s perspective, will this seem:
- Too widely drawn out and hard to access
- Too much open space and not enough clutter… Although there IS a lot of detail, it wouldn’t seem like that if one were to join this game. Try to find a way to make the player perceive this as more filled with stuff.
Amazing build. Onzo’s shack and the bridge are both really great.
I hope to see this integrated into one’s game soon.
I will try to make more things to fill out the spaces, thanks
I wish to see that too, glad you like it.
Yeah, it really is a work of art. I’m going to go visit the game to see it in person?
It looks very good! but the tree leaves can definetly be improved. They’re way too simple.
I like what you did with the map, only ting is that 'Onzo’s shack" looks more detailed than the others. Try adding a little more detail to the other buildings as well.
Looks good, aside what ShelDev has already said i’d suggest reviewing some of you colour scheme as in some areas it looks disjointed or too dark. I’d also suggest levelling so it’s not all flat.
Thanks for the idea, it really looks too flat right now
I will add this to my notes, thank you
I will try to improve them next time. Thanks
Glad I could help,
In this photo, I’d suggest changing the Hill/background to what can be seen in many other low poly games, a staggered hill.
Although most likely less drastic than this with fewer components
Yes this type of outline looks great, but i couldnt make it back then because i didnt know how to use blender but now that i am good at blender i think i will be able to do it
You can actually do it outside Blender, grab a polygon from Toolbox, make sure it doesn’t have any scripts or malicious items inside. Then Extrude it , colour and Material it.
I never liked using the toolbox, I love making everything from scratch, i know its challenging but it is great for learning.
Agreed, you shouldn’t use the toolbox but when it comes to more complex basic shapes I think you can give it a pass. Your not using prebuilt models (e.g shovel), just a basic shape.
It feels a bit plain but I am sure people would love to see that in a game.
Thanks, glad you feel this way.
