Feedback on my Neon City build

I recently made this Neon City build for somebody on Discord. I think it looks fine but I wanted other people’s opinions and constructive criticism.

Extra details

It took about 1 week to build, but I didn’t work on it every day.
This was meant to be a place to showcase clothing, which is why there’s a bunch of random NPCs
You can play the game here: Neon City - Roblox

If you want to commission a build from me message me on one of the following

hey that is great but I would love that the lights of the trees match the color of the tree a pink, neon purple would be fine
In addition to the letters on which the 3 roblox logos are instead of being yellow you will changed them to red Like this

The lighting and neon lights all look super good in this environment. However you might want to add more variation to your buildings to mix it up a bit, especially those in the background which are very squarish. Anyways, great job on the build, keep it up!

Looks good! Maybe try changing the shapes of the buildings in the background a little bit.

Other than that, it looks very nice. :ok_hand:

Maybe a little more neon in some places, maybe some neon stripes on some walls to really bring out that neon modern feel, 8/10!

Hello Developer.

I’d like to point out, that It’s great of you, for using the Developer Forums, for It’s purposes for getting Feedback, on a commission for someone, before sending it over to them.

Back to the city itself, the shapes you used are basic, yet they’re giving a very nice detail, the color you used for the window lights on the houses, the lamps and the neon colors generally, give you a nice, warm and comfortable vibe, so good job on that as well.

The nice dark-blueish sky, matching the theme. The lighting technology generally, great and the details on the buildings, awesome.

I’d say this looks amazing to me, keep it up!

From an artist’s standpoint, adding a blue/purple ambient is very much reccomended if you want to bring out the neon element/vibe:) GLHF!

They actually ended up not wanting it, which is why I posted it here. Sorry for any confusion.

Hello again…

I see, I see, did they state why they didn’t want it, or did they just cancel the commission, if it was one?

The commissioner said it was too small.

Alright, Alright then. Thanks for informing me, as I said, it looked good to me, but that’s me and most likely you as well. Have a nice day/afternoon/evening!

I love it. The bloom on it though is a bit high. If you go into lighting, and add “bloom” and mess around with it, I think it will really make a difference in the scene.

If you want to have a nice animated water that isn’t terrain water here’s a open resource you can use: https://www.roblox.com/library/1864464775/Animated-Water-Block

It’s just a animated part with textures, very versatile as you can change the part and texture color/transparency

Windows right now personally feel like my biggest thing I would wanna see more detail added to them, Majority of the rest of the build is to a good quality but the windows weirdly seem a step down compared to the rest ( not the neon just the shape and feel ) so I would suggest redoing windows, making doing different types of windows as well and sizes.

The park benches would look better facing the tree in the middle, and could use something more going on, at the sides of the giant walls maybe some posters or vendor carts along the side of the walls.

Also would suggest changing the flowers at the bottom of the tree to be more of a assortment then just one and not all at the same size/placement level.

Thjs alley had some oddly played invisible barriers that prevent jumping towards the end of the alleyway, sure it’s minor issue but it can really mess with the feel of a game.

EDIT: Btw the bushes could use more detail similar to the tree maybe have them more rounded.

Hi,
I do like this build, as I like more of a simplistic genre to detailed/realistic.
The only things that look of is with the material of the bushes it clashes against the smooth plastic material of the houses.
I would suggest sticking to simplistic materials with no textures as it would work be better.
Great job though I overall love it keep up the good builds
