Feedback on my new game

Hello everyone! This is my first post on the devforum, I have been working on a game called ‘The Booth Hangout’ and would like feedback on the game

The Booth Hangout

I would like feedback about the GUI, enviroment and the other buildings, thank you!

The GUI could use some work. You could make a lot of changes the first one would be changing the gradient type of effect because it makes the black text background look strange. The next thing I would do is change abandon and confirm buttons by putting the background as red and green and changing the text to white or something like that. I don’t specialise in UI design so you don’t have to take my advice.

First of all, I would definitely change the “X’s booth” sign on the booths, they’re way too big for whatever reason.

Completely agree. When it comes to designing text over backgrounds, I highly discourage putting the gradient on the text directly. Only exception I would say is something like

Otherwise, you should highly put the gradient as the background and simply keep a white/dark text over it.

I highly, and very highly discourage using too different colors when it comes to the gradient. For example, fading from white to black is a no-no. If anything, I’d do a bright-gray to almost dark. Too much difference will make it look ugly. Same as in your buttons, red-white and green-white look bad, consider using two shades of each color, one light and one dark.

Next, it would definitely be helpful if I could close the change booth menu without disowning the booth. “Confirm” and “Abandon” don’t go well, consider adding “Cancel” as well. Following up, I would stack these three buttons neatly so the player has an idea of what’s what. These things follow an order as well, so please don’t put “Cancel” on top.

UI aside, let’s go over the map. Not sure what it is, but apparently stuff inside a castle and that’s it. Keep the map to a theme, I think this will look great on a low-poly plaza build. Billboards should stand out, not placed next to each other, so put one on each corner would work better.

Anyway, good stuff.

It’s a bit too bright, darkening the background might help.

I think this is absolutely brilliant. This is single-handedly the greatest game on the Roblox platform. I can easily envision a bright and successful future for this experience and its creators.

1: The new UI is pretty good.

Original #1

The UI gradient needs a lot of toning down, so it doesn’t look annoying.

2: This is personal opinion, but I feel you could make your map a bit better to look at (grass instead of wood, no castle so it looks open)

the map design needs some work and should be a little less low poly. also the name is just… yeah you get the point

I love the poly look and the name! not everything needs to look high poly to be a goodgame!

ik but the trees look kind of basic, and really old, the castle is a bit weird etc

Very nice but the GUI could be better. But overall good job!
