It’s pretty self explanatory but here is the mismatched color which I assume is what you’re asking abt
Hmm okay I will fix that tom along with other patches
Umm the material that seems like ice ain’t its sand I guess it a bit too bright, and I didint use any fire in the game i just made a small volcano. Thanks for the compliment anyways
You should lower the terrain colours on everything and up the saturation of the game as well as the contrast to make it look better, the island isn’t bad but the lighting makes it worse than it is because brightness levels aren’t in tuned with the skybox.
Here for instance is an example of bad lighting, as the ground is super bright but the skybox is super dark, so to us humans it looks odd as we have our own perception of what is and isn’t real, since you appear to be leaning into the more realistic side of Roblox Development, you’ll need to change this.Hmmm noted I have will lower brightness and erode the island as when I tried to get rid of it,it got messed up so I will lower the terrain
Making the terrain colors darker and upping both the saturation and contrast in the ColorCorrection lighting edit would help a lot.
I don’t see the point of this being a “showcase”.
It’s basic terrain with no meaning, or any buildings. It’s very small for a showcase, and it must’ve took you 5 minutes.
The contrast between the skybox, and the ocean itself doesn’t really fit.
The rocks on the ocean are so out of place.
I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt, it’s good considering it’s your first ‘showcase’.
Umm not really this didint take me 5mins tht took me an hour to actually make it like that
I will vouch for the guy making smooth terrain builds can be very difficult if you aren’t super experienced with design and how you want everything to fit together, heck my first ‘island’ had a cave that was a giant sqaure, don’t be so tough on 'im.
He asked for an opinion, so I said my opinion.
I don’t think it’s all that smooth, tbf.
most the terrain looks blocky and not realistic or smooth, plus the entire thing is just terrain, you could of added some details like huts or trees
Yea ik it rough I was planning to make the top smooth
I forgot the trees I will add all of them in the update tom. I will add some huts on the another island that seems like ‘ice’
I’m just saying. A showcase is meant to well… show what you’ve built, it could be a single prop, a scene, anything. A showcase doesn’t have to be more than what the creator intended it to be. This is a showcase by definition. Again, using smooth terrain is extremely difficult, it takes a while to get used to it considering the tools Roblox lends you to do so, and using certain plugins can only get you so far. Plus, you’re looking from what I can tell; too heavily into realism, let it be what it is, it’s just a fun little island that isn’t meant to be anymore than an island that looks semi-real but has the fundementals of a cartoony space.
I’m giving him critism to even get his showcase anything.
If you won’t give him an honest opinion, he isn’t going to progress.
I have improved the showcase with your suggestions above:
- I changed the skybox
- I made the terrain smooth
- I made the water tropical
- I improved lighting
- I added trees to the island
- Fixed mismatched colors
Good work I can really see some improvements you’ve made to your showcase I like the concept, especially the other types of islands in the water, but once again, a little detail wouldn’t hurt. Consider placing a few add details to the floor, maybe some cool designs of dirt paths, add more nature to fill up the empty spaces; rocks, flowers, variety of trees, etc. Would also work to make it look more natural, and have a realistic feel maybe add a boat washed up on the sand.
Add some more tree density and color variation to the trees. I also noticed the other island doesn’t resemble a volcano if I’m not mistaken. Particle effects could add a nice touch. Add a big smoke plume added to the volcano, consider adding elevation to the volcano making it look more appealing, or change it up to match the environment better and make the island feel more filled.
Other than, it’s decent. Good luck, looking forward to seeing more!
okay noted i will add smoke effects and other things you talked about tommorow
My only suggestion is to lower the contrast a bit so you aren’t super dark.
Here is another picture:
terrain still kinda blocky especily the volcano thing, and can you tell me what tree model you found and used in the game
