Hello,
I am looking for feedback on my new story game, Medieval Times.
Here is a link to the game on Roblox: Medieval Times (Story) - Roblox
Please let me know about any bugs or glitches!
Hello, I played the game for a little bit. I have a few suggestions/ideas to better the game.
1. Storytelling
- In the first 5-7 minutes of playing the game, nothing I did influenced anything. This time is critical to keeping people playing (especially the type of people who play story games). They want action.
- Teleporting. Nothing the player did was exploration, it was all behind a screen that fades in and out. This took away from the sense of the real world.
- The Actual Story: it didn’t make sense. If you were to go back in time with modern clothes to a medieval world, a king would not welcome you.
2. Visuals
- It was strikingly obvious that 75-90% of the game/gameplay was free models, which took away from the immersion.
- The dialogue GUI was nicely designed yet the shop GUI looked like it could be made in 3-5 minutes. I think this goes with the bullet point above.
Additional note: There is a cutscene where the player looks at a guy on top of a building and you can see the whole map with the levels scattered around.
Thank you for the feedback! Do you have any suggestions for any interesting activities I could put at the beginning of the game to keep the players engaged? Maybe something like knocking out guards to steal their clothing?
That would be great! Also, I didn’t add how I liked that you introduced the enemies to the players before throwing them into combat.
I love using cutscenes! (maybe a little bit too many in my game lol). My game needs a lot more work, but thank you for taking the time to play it. I’ll use what you said as a checklist of things to cross out!
The cut scenes are really long and when I joined it. I died for no reason.
As soon as the loading screen finished you died?
Yes, I just died.
And I did nothing.
I’ll look into it! Thanks for letting me know!
