Feedback on my Top Hat

Hi Developers,
I made a top hat in blender…please tell me how is it?

To be honest, I’m not a big fan of it.

Top hats are normally curved slightly at the base and there’s no curve here. The overall shape is a bit on the bland side if that makes sense? The texture is really blurry and doesn’t fit at all. It’s just too bright and not very good. Those would be the two things you should focus on improving.

If you can improve those then it’s not bad but there’s still a lot of work to be done.

I like the ideia of a colorful top hat, but I would also make some changes. I would make edges more rounded and lower the number of color divisions in texture, making it less visually polluted. You could also try changing the strip color to make it easy to distinguish base from top of the hat.
Good job, keep going and you’ll have a good hat

you can bevel the side to make it more round ctrl + b

Good start for a top hat. I made a quick one to help out. I highlighted the areas of my top hat to where I beveled.

I beveled with control + B then used the mouse wheel to increase the segments.

Finally, I just right clicked on the mesh and turned on smooth shading.

As for the textures. I would UV unwrap it and then try to break up the repeating texture, so it looks more randomly colorful.
