Feedback on my Upcoming Game

Heya fellow devs! As a solo developer, I decided to build my own game. I still have to put a little decorations, but this is the basic concept. What do you guys think?

 Coming soon!

The concept looks cool, but needs some few things such as the decorations in Race Map and Lobby area and also some more UIs.

Decoration:

  • The decoration in main area needs to be a little bit bigger with things that players can interact like a obby + a shop with a NPC managing where you’re going to buy some trails, etc.

  • The decoration in the first race map needs some mountains, rocks and trees to cover the Baseplate with the grass texture.

UIs:

  • Try adding a UI for counting the timer until you complete the obstacle.

  • Settings UI where the player can mute the sound and put the quality down (a cool idea).

  • A countdown (counting 3/10 seconds) when you enter in the portal to start racing + one counting the time.

  • A UI in the NPC’s shop and one as a button in case the player is not interested (or another reason) to go there.

— In case you don’t know how to make UIs, I recommend you checking GFX Comet. He shows how to make cool styles + another creations such as GFX and Logos.

If you want to keep working more and more and this upcoming project, making awesome, here’s some extra ideas for you:

  • Make a gamepass and a social media code UI.

  • Make a leaderboard showing the best records in a server and a global one showing the best records in all of the servers.

  • Make select race map in case you would like to add more of them. And don’t forget to make cool maps with many creative styles. If you want inspiration, try checking out the Roblox game Speed Race/Speed Run 4.

Hope my feedback helps you a lot to upgrade everything in your awesome project. Keep improving and making a amazing job!

As I said, I’m a solo dev. I can do some things, such as the cooldown, but there’s still a lot of debugging to do. I’m planning a 2x speed gamepass soon and a random map selector so just be patient and let me take my time.

I’m also a solo developer. I create many things even If they take a lot of time.

In case I don’t know how I can fix in UIs bugs, I call for help here asking in the scripting support category.

Now the part you said ā€œI’m planning a 2x speed gamepass soon and a random map selector so just be patient and let me take my time.ā€ it’s totally fine, have your time. But in case you want to have more stuffs, there’s my suggestions for you to make it cooler.

I love this! Looks unique, I love the moving parts and the whole concept! I’d add some textures and colors, and maybe even some more detailed terrain with flowers, trees and bushes. I’d also suggest adding kill-parts so there’s a bigger challenge level and more reason to complete the obby. I like how it tells you how long it took to complete the obby, but I would suggest a different font, since that one seems a bit basic! I’d change the grass color to something more dark and realistic – or more low poly neon. If you choose the realistic option, I’d suggest adding 3D grass. You can do this by going into ā€˜Terrain’ and press Decoration on Properties. Next, go to Terrain Editor and put anything you want!

Nonetheless, you’re doing great! Keep up the great work!

-Sincerely,
Samuel.

This game looks promising! I’ll stay up to date with this

out of ten i would rate this a 6.45/10 this game is pretty simple to make but its good

Thanks for the feedback! Actually, I had to connect most of the game scripts to remote events and the gui uses tweening, so actually it isn’t that simple.

I don’t want to get pulled into anything, but-

I believe he was only giving you suggestions, not pushing and begging you to make these things. Saying that you’re a solo dev will prove some things, but it’s not really a valid argument seeing that JuanGamerPlayz_RBLX is also a solo dev and can make many things too as a solo dev.

Again. Just suggestions. No biggie. But of course, take your time, and good luck.

Hello guys! New update:

New Update

CHICKEN DRUMSTICC GO BRR HAHA XDDD

LATEST UPDATE: Decorated Lobby

It’s very close to release!

You should make a constantly running mechanic, and some kill parts.

Don’t worry, I am working on that right now.

It looks pretty bland. Also, something about this.

You shouldn’t put too many game passes in or else it will be pay to win. Now that I think about it, you should NOT have a 2x speed GAMEPASS inside of a RACING game. That would make it unfair for others as well as make people have less fun and leave your game and most likely add a bad ratio (aka dislike) which will make your game appear bad to others.

TL;DR, make it so it’s less bland and don’t add a 2x speed pass if it’s a competitive racing game against other players.

Following up, you ever seen those asset packs that developers put out? You should try using those as well as textures. I’ll link some here:

I haven’t checked for viruses in these models so most if not all of them were from the dev forum so you might be fine for the most part.

Anyways, happy developing and I hoped I helped a bit!

I’ve decided that it’s mostly solo. You can go in a multiplayer game, but it’s just relax & chill, not racing in multiplayer. You just hang out and play with your speed there.

As someone who often plays obbies, I recommend putting this in r6. R15 can get pretty buggy at times and is just overall really hard to play with, also the design and gameplay are pretty standard and bland. Other than that, I have hopes for this game!
