Hello, I am making a wilderness survival game. You can build, craft, explore, etc. I have been working on it for some time and want some ideas on how to make it more professional and polished, as well as feature ideas. I would really appreciate some feedback : )
Pretty cool, but the apples are massive and I seemed kind of boring.
Perhaps you could have some kind of quest system to teach the players the basics of the game instead of a tutorial in the menu. Most people just want to jump in and play. If you can you make the tutorial feel like a part of the game then they can learn while playing.
Things like gathering apples, cutting wood and making a fire. Those things could reward the players with coins or something and teach them at the same time how the game mechanics work.
Another thing. The first thing a new player is greeted with is a huge Shop menu.
I don’t think someone who never played the game will buy something since they don’t know anything about the game.
You could perhaps introduce the shop later in the game. Let the player know about the game first.
When the tutorial is over and the player get their coins you could show a shop where they can spend those coins and also how they can buy more coins to get more things from the shop later.
Thanks for the feedback. I agree with what you said, i’ll start implementing the quest system
