Hi everyone! I’ve just started working on a new project about surviving floors on an elevator, obviously inspired by the classic game: ‘The Normal Elevator.’
It’s still in the early stages, and I’m looking for suggestions on how to improve it. You can check it out here: Elevator Test - Roblox. Note: I’ve only added a few floors so far!
it looks pretty cool! some points for improvement tho:
The glass bridge is really dark and you can’t see anything
You can just run and jump across the glass bridge without the glass breaking (idk if intended)
The elevator is a little bit plain and could use some detail (railings, a fake level selector, etc.)
When you walk into the elevator, instead of it just teleporting you to the actual elevator, a transition would be nice (ex. the doors close and your screen fades to black)
Some kind of incentive to the player to complete the levels, i.e. coins to buy pets, cosmetics, or gears
A shop for the coins with like a classic Roblox shopkeeper - like Scratch in gd
Maybe a little bit shorter wait between levels?
Also, I think R6 would be better - I just like R6 far more than R15 - it just feels better
This game is really fun (and stressful) the only thing I would recommend is shorter wait times (if possible) and a reward for completing a level. Where did you find/create the music and sound effects? They are really good!
Yeah. People have said that to me, I realise that once you have died on say the obby you’re just stuck there. Maybe a spectate feature may also be useful? As for the audios, I have just chosen random ones from the roblox sound library, however I am going to create my own audios for the game in the future, and I create audios on a platform called FL Studio.
Sounds great! A horror side would be really cool, like the elevator breaks down and starts shaking, the lights start flickering, and you can hear the cables and elevator grinding and screeching, the music glitching and replaying some parts - then it comes to a sudden halt. The lights slowly come back to life emitting a faint glow, and you realize that everyone is gone - you’re all alone. The elevator bell dings and the doors slowly creak open. Ahead is a hallway of blood-stained walls and a plain white linoleum floor. It stretches on for eternity with no end in sight. The fluorescent lights flicker and spark above with a faint buzz. As you walk our footsteps echo around, filling the space with sharp echoes. You begin to hear a faint whispering in the distance. “Where could it be coming from?” you ask yourself. You begin to feel unsettled and turn back. You start heading back when you realize that you can’t find the elevator. You hadn’t gone far, yet you find no trace of the elevator.
That would be cool. Btw if you ever need help with anything, I’m always open to assist anyone (although im mainly a scripter).
