Feedback on new Homestore

Ahoy devs!

I just released my first Homestore (still a WIP) to the public and am wanting some feedback on what you think of it? You can check it out Here

What were your first impressions, and were there any flaws in your opinion?

Please only leave constructive criticism. Unfortunately some are just commenting to troll.

The lightning isn’t great, and needs some work. The music isn’t good in my opinion and needs work.
Give me a guide, tell me what this game is about, its a store, cool what do you want me to do. A GUI would help and the map design need work.
The store looks unfinished and looks like it’s closing instead of opening. Not much detail and feels like a ghost town, some AI would help make the place more alive.
Otherwise if you fix the above, it’s cool.

It’s meant for you to buy things if you want clothes??

Can you be more specific? You can’t expect me to improve anything if you’re just being rude with no reasoning.

I could buy the clothes at the normal Roblox marketplace, add an option for example to try on the clothes. Add something more than just clothes, a place to talk and share about clothing designs.

Lighting is too bright and feels like a compatibility lighting(no shadows)
Switch to voxel or shadowmap lighting, along with making the scene darker and allow for those neon lights to show their true potential. Music isn’t good and doesn’t fit for something in a store I believe. Not being rude, I am providing you help. Criticism != being rude.

This is already a part of The Homestore. It works on mobile and pc.

That’s not really the point of a homestore.

It’s actually Future is Bright lighting with soft shadows.

It doesn’t seem like you are that knowledgeable about the topic, so just saying everything “needs work” or is not good is being rude actually.

I don’t know which of your scripts is causing this, but I am experiencing consistent frame drops on an interval basis. https://i.imgur.com/FLkKFJg.jpeg https://streamable.com/trh9oa

Can I ask what device you’re playing on?

CPU - Ryzen 5 3400G
MoBo - ASUS PRIME A320M-K
GPU - Radeon RX 570
RAM - Team T-Force VULCAN 16GB/3200MHz

Pretty much spot on. A lot of the try-on clothes don’t work for me, and the Homestore would overall be fine if the lighting were better. Just try with a different ambient, change to shadow map, experiment with bloom, etc.

I just tested all mannequins again and they still seem to be working. Do you remember which clothes were you testing exactly?

It’s ok.

I argee with @alexthecool6000. It looks bland and boring and it probably took around a day, compared to other homestores. and the homestore could have more deco in it.

Rating of the homestore: 6/10

And there is also an error: Why do you have to buy clothing to try in on???

What do you mean by this?

There are separate buttons for trying on and buying.

I’m not sure why this is happening on your end. I have the same pc but my framerates are steady.

Lighting could use a bit of work, I’d try playing around with color correction, sunrays, atmosphere, DOF and blur as well as editing the time of day. It also appears you don’t have global shadows on, if not I would consider turning that on.

Oh, i now get it, just put the buy button somewhere else, its very confusing. and some people will think that you have to buy to try on, like me.

Why do you then want me to shop there, incentivize me to buy at your shop instead of the Roblox marketplace.

Lighting I think might be better if it’s darker and help, as it looks as if the game has no shadows.

When a car you have came back from the mechanic and has a flat tire even though you told the mechanic to fix it, you aren’t going to smile and not say, this will work. You need to tell the person, this doesn’t work and needs to be fixed. I never said everything needs work, I hope that you learn the meaning of criticism, you won’t get smiles and applause every time. I am trying to help you.

I appreciate the concern but that is not what you intended by commenting. The co owner of the game even saw you in the game yesterday telling players that they should leave because it’s bad. This is very unnecessary and rude for you to do. Have a good day and please be more respectful of strangers in the future.

Unsure if I said that, since there were only 3 people which we talked the whole time. You probably confused me with another player.

I like the use of ProximityPrompt dialog. One thing that bothered me, is the ceilings. They are very large and only have lights on them. I would suggest adding supporting beams, in parts where the ceiling extrudes. You could even add a skylight on the second floor.

Yes I was also thinking the ceilings were too plain. I’ll probably change them along with new lighting for the next update.
