Feedback on Obby with a twist

How this started:
I was bored, I was scrolling through community resources looking for something to toy with, saw EgoMoose’s gravity controller and remembered I never actually got time to play with it much so decided to screw around with it

Basically the game is your stereotypical obby, with a twist that you can change gravity by jumping on vertical platforms, I original made this literally cause I had nothing else to do, however i’m considering turning it into a small side project.

Game

Now the reason im asking for feedback, is because while most people started with an obby to learn development, I started with RPG mechanics (it went horribly wrong), so I would appreciate some inputs from viewpoints both as roblox players, and developers.

  1. Do a bother continuing with it.
  2. Is it decent.
  3. What do you suggest I can do to improve.

Changlog from feedback:
Added a ‘Tutorial’ stage with easier and more understandable jumps
Made camera rotate to forward to stop death on spawn
Added a play button instead of automatic start

I think it’s a really good game, and you should definitely continue it. It reminds me of the harder obbies, and takes a while to get used to. I can see a lot of players (like Shadow Run) keep trying to complete it. Different jump customisation & effects would be cool, as well as new levels.

While it is quite a neat game and concept, the gravity physics are wonky, so it’s hard to get the player to know what they are trying to do. A little starting section that has simple jumps and stuff like that would help.

I think that you should continue working on it, as it is a cool gimmick that isn’t seen a lot around Roblox. It is decent. And as said above, add an area for new players to have them know what the game is about, and get a feel for the game.

A lot of improvement could be done with this game. This is my opinion:

  • There should be something like a tutorial before the player starts the game

  • I suggest starting with something easy and not a 90-degree change. Start with something like 15 degrees. New players will have a hard time adjusting to the difficulty.

  • When the player respawns, their camera angle isn’t reset, so they can fall off the platforms instantly.

This game is really fun and you shouldn’t stop here. Continue updating and adding more features as you will soon have many competitors.

Goodluck!

If you used EgoMoose’s gravity controller, you should give him credit.

If your wondering why its not in the description of the game or whatever, I remind you this is really. demo and is not yet a game so therefor Ive yet to set up that stuff, I started today and have only been sorting out core game mechanics.
