Hi! My name is Evenous, and our team CandyCanes Studios have launched a whole new game hoping to bring a better experience for thousands of people on the Roblox Platform!
Speed Rush If you could play the game and give us a feedback on how to improve the game, please reply down below!
Including YouTubers on the thumbnail may not be a good idea if they haven’t actually endorsed your game
Took a long time to load. This is not good. People judge games within 7 seconds, which is why it’s important to show what’s fun or interesting about your game in this time window. If you’re deadset on including a loading screen, consider including some kind of preview on that screen to get people interested.
Good builds for the most part. Some levels feel repetitive with the excessive use of hexagons and octagons.
Good music for the most part
The impression I got when playing was “Oh, this is speed run 4 but slower”. If other people get this impression, it could adversely impact the game. So here are a couple solutions to help differentiate. First, a new movement mechanic, like a jetpack, grappling hook, climbing ability or whatever. Second, moving obstacles. For instance, let’s say the castle map had dragons flying around that you had to avoid.
At the start, I was confused on where to go. I spent a minute and a half wondering why my speed wasn’t increasing (it looked like this game was a simulator). Any 8-yr old (your core demographic) would quit by then.
You tended to use varying build styles on different levels, making it a bit hard to tell if it was low poly or high poly. Also, at certain points, I would see builds that were a hybrid of low-poly and high-poly, which made the build look ugly in my opinion.
Also, when I cleared a stage, my character after crossing the gate would die because of the late teleport. This was a slight annoyance as it wasted my time.
And do keep in mind, you have to separate your game from the competition. What makes me want to play this game more than just playing the game that has more content and more players (Speed Run 4)?
Awesome job! I would keep in mind what @RemadeAlternative said, this is a solid game idea however I would re-work the UI and builds to make it low-poly and more colorful.
You actually should not have a lobby, just a “spawn on join” UI that would allow the player to start the game sooner. This is more convenient and would make it seem less like a simulator. I would also add in more modes, like maybe a 2D runner mode, more themed “levels” and areas, and overall just expand the map to make it more interesting.
In the future as you build up a player base, I would recommend adding in event specials that go beyond the basic “halloween” that I saw upon joining, making up cool new themes that aren’t so basic and give the player something to marvel at and take interest in.
And, just a suggestion, making an inifinite runner with multiple themes (sort of like subway surfer, but with the more 3D, more moveable aspect) would also be popular.
Right now, I feel like playability may get boring after a while. To keep players coming back, adding in the different modes (and other suggestions I mentioned) would keep people playing longer than a few minutes.
I did experience a slightly long time to load, certainly longer than I expected but not incredibly long.
Aesthetically it’s a very pleasing game to look at it, very pretty - apart from level 4, the grey made it hard to properly see the blocks
Although I found it obvious, I noticed there was no information on joining explaining there was a double jump. I can definitely see some people not realising that
Also saw this happen to someone, which I think I can say with reasonable confidence is not what’s meant to happen:
I’ve also noticed the bug where that happens! We are willing to add tutorials to the game and add more details to improve our game! Thank you so much for your feedback!
I totally agree with you, and we are indeed willing to revamp the maps so that they are fully low poly! Adding on, we will enable CanCollide to the portals so that that doesn’t happen! We will try our best to improve our game, and thank you so much for spending your time reviewing the game!
