Hello! I’m Kyle.
Me and my friends are currently working on a talkshow, all of us are scripters and have hardly experience with building.
We were trying to achieve a realistic cartoony look (I know that doesn’t make sense, but in roblox it does)
We were looking for some feedback as we expect tons of visits within the next week as it is our first show.
Here are some images:
Here is a link for the game, but we do have a curtain for the stage, so you wont be able to see that. But the bathrooms are always open! The Weekly Talkshow! - Roblox
I would recommend making the couches and chairs more realistic. For the bathrooms maybe you could make the mirror reflected. Other than that you just need to fill in some of the empty space in the stage. Otherwise its good!
Choosing - finding a different color pallet for the flooring could add a bit more to the overall setting or adding warm vibrant colors to the walls would make it pop a little more, adding like a grey-ish fabric carpet, potted tree plants, more use of lighting will defintley spice it up.
I’d recommend changing the bathroom colors try not to make everything one certain color such as (white) using a glass material instead of a white appearance would be good to add or add something more fitting to the realistic approach your going for (try using a different material for the ceiling bathroom maybe go for smooth plastic).
The start of the build is a little bland of course, adding different materials could remove the objects from blending in with each other. Since your going for a realistic with a bit of cartoony approach change the style and overall material to make it match a realistic look.
TL;DR: The only issue I see here: is that the red with a black flooring don’t match at all it kinda looks like a random black color was placed on it try choosing an actual material or something to make it more welcoming.
My opinion. The build and the structure is overall good enough. However, the color choosing does bother me a little. Its like bright red with black doesnt match well. You might want to add extra white frame on a black color to seperate black and red.
Little detail i see is the the faucet spinner (Or whatever it is called) is neon. It is better if you change it to plasic or other appealing material.
We were ready to change the color anyway as this is just the layout, but I totally agree that it doesn’t really match. I’ll probably start working on that today.
Let’s say that it’s a bit Bloxy in my opinion but very good for your first build! THe two buttons, red and green could be changed into cylinder shaped buttons though. If you want it to be realistic too, i suggest playing with the lighting and add texture to some parts such as walls, doors etc. You could also add meshes to make it look good.
Myself as a builder on the platform for over 4 years I can say that this is a fantastic build that has plenty of potential. Not only have you put time and effort into it I can tell that it is very advanced for somebody’s first build, all I can really say is great job.
My Suggestions for this build would be:
Work more with point lights and range, working with that can make it seem more of a realistic kind of studio lighting for the talk show theme that you’re going for.
For the desk, I would look up a actual talk show desk and try to do your best to recreate that a block of wood is kind of a bit bland and doesn’t really stand out to me.
I wish you the best of luck building in the future, you guys obviously have a lot of potential keep up the fantastic work!
The main thing I notice is the chairs.
Personally I would:
Thin out the legs of the chairs, and move them slightly closer from the edge of the seat. Tenths of a stud make all the difference with small models!
Add some sort of backing to the back of the seats like black plastic / smooth plastic. Too much fabric, or any texture really, of the same color makes it less appealing to look at. Even extending the backing a quarter or a tenth of a stud off from the edges of the fabric can seriously make your chairs more detailed and bold.
The rest of the build is actually quite nice. Good work !
Either the ceiling is too low or the stall doors are too high, in my opinion. Also, I do think it seems very wide? Like, it seems a little too big for a bathroom
