Feedback on our game demo!

Hey there, my team just released an early version of our newest game, Knockout Legends.

I’ve made a of couple games before, but I still always want to get more feedback from the community before I go all in on something like this.

Tell me what you think!

  1. What do you like?
  2. What do you hate?
  3. Is the core loop solid?
  4. How is the monetization?
  5. Does the art draw you in, or turn you off in any way?
  6. Is there something lacking?*
  7. What else could be improved on?

*Besides more content. This is only our Pre-Alpha demonstration.

Literally the most fun game I’ve played in a while.

  1. I like the throwing mechanic. It’s SOOOO satisfying just throwing the knocked out people into water and stuff.
  2. I do hate the fact that there’s only 2 maps and the things you can throw are pretty limited. What I’m saying is make more things in the map that you can throw.
  3. The core loop is pretty good. Simple and straight to the point.
  4. Monetization is also pretty good, although I don’t understand why under “Upgrades” are there things you can buy with robux and have nothing to do with upgrades at all? Seems kind of misleading.
  5. The art doesn’t really affect me at all to be honest.
  6. It lacks some good, screen shaking effects that REALLY make you think you damaged your opponent (obviously there should be an option to turn this effect off as well)
  7. Everything seems good to me for a Pre-Alpha demonstration.

More maps are on the way with a much needed map vote system cause roblox’s random system is a bummer. Screen shakes could be implemented as well. I said upgrades in the sense that they upgrade your gameplay experience, but I can change that.

OH! I almost forgot, you should also add a tutorial because I just see people joining and immediately leaving because they don’t know what to do (for some odd reason).

Yeah we are not entirely sure why that is happening we made it so easy to understand.

I think your game is good for the state it’s in. Definitely playable, but will need changes.
I’d say the combat needs work the most. In my experience spamming attacks works best, so it’s not rewarding to be good at fighting.
Headbutting felt like it did nothing, and throwing things seemed to be the best move to make. You should try interactive maps that complement the throwing mechanic.
The attack cooldowns are badly placed. They’re on the left of the screen, which is out of the way yes but too far from where my eyes are mostly focused–center. The progress of the cooldowns also doesn’t stand out enough.

I will definitely look into improving the combat experience. Regarding the cooldowns, what type of device were you using?
