The trailer seems well made and it gets across the point of the game well. However, I would possible have a few suggestions (I don’t have much experience with trailers or video editing so don’t take these too seriously.):
Add background music - there aren’t many silent moments in the trailer but background music could help to add some ambiance to the trailer and make it feel more lively and make the game seem more exciting.
Additional sound effects - there are some sound effects in the trailer which are well placed and work well in the trailer; however, smaller sound effects could be added such as when items or placed or faint effects in the background such as ocean sounds or birds when it would work well. In addition, smaller sound effects such as say lighting when the narrator says “But beware” could help to keep the player’s interest. This could make the trailer feel more lively and make players more excited to play.
Overall, I think the trailer works well and I would likely play the game after watching it. (I think I have also seen videos promoting it online). I hope my advice helps in some way and I wish you the best with your game as it seems well made it I think it will do well.
Thank you so much for the detailed feedback and kind words!
I fully agree with your points and I really like the lightning sound effect idea - I’m going to use this feedback to hopefully make an even better trailer, thank you again!
I think it’s great! I would just remove the voice and change the font of the captions. I would also find good royalty-free background music for the trailer. I know that https://uppbeat.io/ has a lot of good royalty-free (and mostly instrumental music), as well as DJ Grumble (who allows you to use his downloadable SoundCloud music if you credit him). I’ve used both of these sources for background music in my videos and experiences in the past.
In addition to the above, change the caption font!! It does not match the theme of the game and/or trailer at all. Try something more cartoony, with a thinner outline too.
I think it’s good! But the music gets a little loud at around 0:15, which doesn’t really go with the game’s calming theme and environment shown in the trailer. I would try a calmer track, like in the Animal Crossing trailer, and make the video a little slower. Maybe even focus the video on less of the mechanics of the game, and more on the environments that you can create (like in the trailer linked above)
