First off this isn’t for any game or project. Yes it is a WIP. This is my first attempt at building anything besides a tree.
So I am trying to build a zoo enclosure because I eventually want to design or help design a zoo myself. Currently am stuck on what to do with the viewing areas roof. I placed some flag poles but that is it. Any advice or critiques are welcome. Just kind of want to know what more experienced builders think of it so far. Thanks in advance.
As of right now, you might want to give a more Zoo type of vibe to the place using more wood material than concrete in your build. You would also want to try keep the place open instead of enclose it to give a more zoo feeling to it.
I think it’s very basic and plain. I would suggest looking up reference pictures and trying to recreate these in a low poly way in blender.
A reference could be this for example. You see the wall has depth and several textures/colors.
If you want to keep the Roblox look you use basic materials, but if you wanted to make it less basic you could use custom textures by downloading them (quickest way) or making them yourself (this could be the case if you are making an entire game and want a special style).
Apply what i said about the wall to your entire build and consider using smooth terrain as sand.
Of course you do not have to do anything I suggested but if you do really want to make it look good consider it.
My blender skills are getting their but are not upto the task of making a building or enclosure. I will definitely be looking up tutorials to help me on that journey though.
In my opinion, I don’t think you need to build with just one area. How about something like this:-
For example, in an open area, you got the main place to decide which part of the zoo you’re going for. So its like this, spawning area in the middle, with jungle themed bridges that connects to diferent animal zoo enclosures.
Definitively helps. The reason I am practicing is not only to improve my skills but eventually to have sort of a portfolio to show off to the owner of a game I am staff for. But my skill is no where close to that of the original builders that mostly have left the dev team.
