Feedback on probably my largest project yet, Gunner Games?

Aloha everyone, I made this post about a year ago asking for your thoughts on my zombies game. I took those considerations to heart and… abandoned the game?

Anyways this time around I got a real banger. I introduce to you all…

It’s a third person shooter.
Very in-depth character customization
Probably, if not legitimately thousands of bugs.

Enjoy! I will be in the game so people can play (there is a 2 person requirement) but please save most of the feedback for on here instead of the chat on there so I can go through it later, and you can write better-thought out criticisms.

I think the game is pretty good, maybe add some stuff to do while waiting for the next round to begin.

There is trading, changing your avatar, etc. but I do see what you mean.

Didn’t really see all of the game, got a bit bored in the game while I was writing that.

I really enjoyed it. I got killed by you of couple times. Overall, little things need ot be added like balancing changes for the gun and the juggernaut mode after that. it is pretty good

Hey! I had fun playing with you! It’s nice to have the creator play with people on launch.

First off, I have a few bugs that I wanted to share.

When I equipped a hat in the main menu, my character disappeared.
I could still pickup health boosts even though I’m at 100.
I’m currently AFK in a two player server, but it the round still starts.
This is more nitpicky, but the category font on the character customization menu was less bold than on the other menus.
Not a bug, but the game was not pinned on your profile
A very small visual bug, if I spam click the shop button, the viewport frames flicker.

In the first few seconds when I first played, I was a bit confused on why I only had a knife until I saw the guns spawns. Maybe have it a bit more clear that guns spawn throughout the map. (Like a little text at the beginning)

But once I figured that out, the game was pretty fun to play. Everything was bug-free and I was impressed how planned out everything was. (Modes, character customization, trading, even monetization was present) I don’t see much games that are posted on the forum to have every feature complete on launch and have no game-breaking bugs. I also find it hard to finish a game, but you did just that and I congratulate you on your release.

Here are some suggestions I though of while playing the game. I felt that the camera was too close to the character, maybe add a menu to edit camera settings and other things. I was not a fan of how the camera jittered when you turn, but it I feel like it’s a common problem with any 3rd person game in Roblox so I’ll cut you some slack there.

I noticed how the weapon spawns always had the same weapon. (Ex the spawn on the log in the city map always has a rocket launcher) I don’t know if it was a coincidence, but maybe have the more op weapons spawn less often. I don’t think I heard any kind of hit sound when I shoot a player, it would add a lot more satisfaction if there was one. Overall the gun sounds were alright and it was fun to play with. (Rocket launcher was my fav, but where is the rocket jump? hehe)

The UI was clean and it was in dark mode, so that’s nice. When I first joined and went on the shop, I did not see the back button for some reason, and I instead clicked on the shop button again thinking it would send me back to the main screen with my character. Maybe you could also add that “Back” button functionality to the other buttons for better user experience, but it was my fault not seeing it at first.

A nitpick I have is the font size, I felt it was a bit too big on some menus, like the stats, and I like more smaller text sizes. However, scaling is hard and it’s probably purposely big so that mobile users can read it. Also, for the trading menu, maybe have a button where you can toggle pending trades and the list of people to trade with.

For the game loop, I think you should have it where you can’t play the same mode twice in a row. I was in the server and we played like 3-4 juggernaut matches and it got a little boring since it was a 1v1. Also, you should make the juggernaut distinct from other players. (bigger size or have a red character)

If you continue to add interesting content and fine-tune certain things, it’s hard not to see this game blow up. I hope all the best! (sorry for the long post btw)

Pretty cool game, dude! But I will say, the juggernaut has some problems. Since he can pick up weapons like the sniper, all the player has to do is camp in one corner and pick off people. If it had a designated weapon with a melee and projectile attack, then it would be fair. Also, it has really low health. 500 HP just isn’t a lot when going against a group of people with snipers.

Another thing I have to say, is that you might benefit from putting what you get in the gamepass’ description. That way, people know what they are getting.

Overall, the game is awesome, and I could see this becoming front page if you continuously update it!

I believe I have solved that issue now. The reason it kept happening was due to the character staying on the map after it had disapeared (perhaps you died right before the game ended) I have now fixed that by anchoring players before the map despawns.

Was it the yellow ones? Yellow health boosts add 50 to your max health. I may differentiate them later on.

That is something I’ll look at. I may judge whether or not to start off of how many active players there are, not just total players.

I will definitely look into pushing the camera back. I’m wary of pushing farther to the right of the character due to how your crosshair will differ from the gun’s scope, but I can definitely try scooching back the camera a bit.

You don’t even want to guess how long that took to partially “fix”, atleast 3 threads were made and I dug up old topics as far back as 2016 to solve the issue. I eventually added the lerp to partially solve it by making it less noticeable.

That is very strange. I notice daggers are very, very common for some reason despite all of them having equal chances of being spawned. My goal is to actually eliminate a weapon’s “OP-ness” and all of them be anywhere from mediocre to great to use, depending on your skill of it. I’m working on rocket launcher first and then the sniper, possibly the Automatic Rifle aswell.

The player you hit makes a sound, the same sound when you get chosen in infected or juggernaut. Perhaps I should add the same thing on the shooter’s side, like a hitmarker sound.

I will definitely make sure to add that. I remember when we were playing juggernaut got chosen atleast 3 times.

That is true. I’ll look into giving them a melee only like infected.

I have changed it now so that every kill the juggernaut receives 25 health!

Sorry for being late to give feedback, I JUST finally got member on here.

Personally I love the game. The levelling is fun, kept me playing, and isn’t too hard.

There was already a decent amount of players when I started (around 4-5 consistently) which is very cool. I did encounter a fly hacker but he was gone in a few minutes so he may have been banned.

I also like how the shop isn’t always the same and you can purchase crates for random chances for items.

I have a few suggestions though.

I feel like the rocket launchers are pretty inconsistent. I don’t know if that’s intentional, but sometimes I hit a player for 75 and sometimes I hit them for 5. Also, the rocket launcher never did damage to me, so I was able to just run super close to players and kill them by shooting directly below me for a guaranteed hit.

The juggernaut mode is very fun, but it can be annoying at times. I feel like there should be some kind of indicator on your screen that points towards him, maybe an arrow or just a red dot. I also think that the juggernaut should be limited to melee only (or something like that.) Another thing would be to make him bigger (which I think was already suggested)

Other than that, I really enjoy the game! Great job, and I hope it reaches front page one day.

Hey, I reached out to you through messages, but I don’t think you saw that. So I’ll say it here. When I bought your gamepasses, I got nothing. All I got was a “you already own this gamepass” GUI. When I went to customize my character, nothing was in my inventory. Maybe look into that?

You get the items when you reach the level they’re for. I.e. level 4 is lampshade, level 5 is tin pot, so on so forth. It’s like a battle pass.
