Feedback on scary(ish?) sword

been making a sword/axe everyday and i think im getting the hand of it
i like the devil(? not really sure what it is) on the sword, was wondering if it was obvious it was a devil without the cavity on or in general
also hoping for someone to answer, how do people get their creativity and ideas without reference pictures? everytime i make something, i always have to get a reference picture, is that a bad thing?

Great job, the sword looks amazing.

Also, no it is not a bad thing if you get reference pictures.
It helps you become better at building, modelling. Looking at reference pictures helps you get inspired too I would say.

Keep up the great work.

Great job on the sword!

Not at all, many people use references as well. As long as you aren’t tracing someone else’s work, you’re free to use as many references as you want!

Another thing: Make sure it doesn’t have too many tris, Roblox has a mesh limit where you can only have a certain amount of tris in a mesh.

Nice Sword I love it.

When I look at your model I think the blade should have a emission BSDF on it colored red.

Keep up with your amazing models. :+1:

thanks! and could you explain what emission BSDF is? i’m assuming it’s something in blender, but im not familiar with anything related with lighting or nodes, if that’s what it is.

It creates a glow for your mesh

I could only get this working in eevee.

You get the effect when turning on bloom.

Cycles. I don’t know how to use all the composite nodes yet

i tried it out, did you add anything else? that looks really cool! but i can’t get it to seem apparent

All I did was a sphere go to the material changed the Principled BSDF to Emission BSDF used eevee rendering and turned on bloom that’s all I did.

Edit: If you want to export this to studio you need to use PBR Textures.
