Hey all! Some of you may know I am working on my building/modeling skills! I recently just created this semi realistic dock scene. This is my 4th ever build I’ve done.
Criticism and feedback on build appreciated!

I like your building very much and there is not much to criticize. But did you use free models?
Not at all. These models were all created by me.

My biggest complaint is the WoodPlank material.
Your wood grain is going crossways on the planks and wouldn’t do that in real life.
So many people use WoodPlank for posts or complicated structures. It should only be used for sheeting large areas like a wal since the board ends and nails indicate a supporting structure underneath. For long boards use Wood and make sure the grain of the wood runs the length of the board, not the width.

I love how that turned out, great work on all the little details. I agree with Scottifly on the use of material, but besides that, there is nothing that I can think of for you to change.

As I can see, you have one row of planks under other, I suggest making them two different colors so that they stand out more and give a more 3d look. 
Nice work on the other things though

Fantastic build. The effects and terrain all add up perfectly. A small suggestion would be to add variation in material. From what I can see there seems to only be wooden objects. Perhaps I’d add buckets. Small pieces of torn cloth laying around. The current design looks great but remember that it doesn’t hurt to add things(Unless you’re trying to optimize your games performance). Also you could include some broken planks by creating some unions.

The textures are great and the sun ray is amazing! But maybe make the boat a different colour, rather than just brown, since the dock is mostly brown coloured and it blends in.

This is spectacular, would like more if you added some small items resting on the dock such as a fishing rod, some vests and buckets, ect
