How can I do even better next time? Also, I used meshes so this ended up at 190 odd parts. I could cut it further if I had time though.
I think my main recommendation is not to get bogged down in the details. It’s a great model, but I suspect whatever sits on this shelf will get more attention. Shelves are more structural than decorative. We train ourselves to tune them out.
I’d call this one done. How bad is the triangle situation?

Not that bad at all. It should be relatively fine.
it looks quite nice! I bet if you made another one in blender, you could get it done a lot faster and make it look really good, but this already looks really good so bravo!
