Hello, so I created a suburban home a while ago just for fun with F3X. However, after finishing (and making simple edits), I felt that the build was quite plain and looked a bit weird. Any suggestions upon improving the build? I prefer to only use parts in studio, as I am not very experienced with unions.
I would first start out with detailing the roof. You should give it more thickness and stretch it out more so that there is an overhang. You can also detail it by tiling adding individual parts to mimic the look of tile roofs.
The windows are plain, and hardly spread out. You should add more windows and give them more details. Possible adding some depth to it by creating window ledges, etc. I see how you are placing most windows facing on direction, however they are all cramped together and some can be distributed to other sides of the house.
For the walls of the house, I’d suggest finding some textures to add as to make it less plain. That or you can go above and beyond and detail them with individual parts to create depth and a more complex figure.
It’s a good starting build, it just requires a bit of fine-tuning. Otherwise, I think it is a good starting point!
Build too plain? Add another garage! Add a gate! Add a back yard and a front garden. Take the focus out of the walls and put it on the surroundings. I’d also suggest experimenting with textures on those walls, giving it a bit of detail could do the world of good for it!
