Hey, so recently I made a simulator-racing type game and after a friend ran some sponsors for 2 days (18+, mobile) I got an average session time of around 6 minutes, which is in the low bracket for similar experiences. (check game statistics below).
So, I am asking you for honest feedback on the game and how you think I can make the game better to maybe increase it to 8-10 minutes.
Asking here because got no idea what Iâm doing wrong so all my projects perform bad, which makes me want to stop deving as a whole so any feedback is very very much appreciated!
So what youâre saying is that this game couldnât be appealing to older audiences? That lowkey makes sense. So maybe I should try again but with a younger playerbase. Thanks man. Also do you have any ideas on what else to add to the game?
You let it run for 5 days(!) and already got demotivated? Bro give it some time, leave the charts and just program! That few days donât necessarily say much. Also, what was your ad spend? Because that also says alot.
After playing it a bit I think I can see why they leave fast. Besides @FroDev1002 who probably was right that advertising it for 18+ is wrong (except if you want to milk them for their Robux lol), first of all, the map is very small. Everything is close to what you can do (train & race). This means players donât even need to walk much and just focus on that. Thereâs not much to enjoy then. The UI looks quiet good and feels intuitive. The biggest point, which may be the reason why they leave so fast, the gameplay is super repetitive and you win pretty fast. I was at hard I think after just a few minutes. Thereâs nothing to do afterwards. Add more elements to play around and have some fun, stuff that may not have to do with the gameplay. Also make pets achievable, like add cute pets that are way harder to achieve and stuff like decoration etc. Make it more fun to rebirth and not just a new title, like make âlowerâ titles âuglierâ etc. And donât make it just pay2win. Maybe I missed it but I didnât see a good shop where you can buy stuff with your âpowerâ or what itâs called. Good luck for the future performance of the game!
Everything looks good as far as the description. Iâm not a big fan on the use of AI-generated art tbh, it wouldnât be a bad idea to commission artwork done for your project. If you were to go for that option I would try to get a simplistic cartoony feel because thatâs what seems pretty popular with those types of games generally.
Keep in mind of your target demographic and be sure to cater towards it!
The game is buggy. I still lost (?) even though the CPU was behind me. I donât understand what âbicepsâ do. The game is generic, from the game icon itself (being AI), and the gameplay (literally just punching simulator).
Been deving for 2+ years, 5full games on my own, 4quick games, 7way more complex games in partnership. Thought this project would be interesting for players. Thatâs why the dissapointment
The map is small because thereâs area 2 where you can progress and so on ( will add more stages in the future). And for fast wins. I noticed that most players donât even reach to hard boss, or stage 2âŠthatâs why I made it so easy.

Do you mind explaining these in details if you got the want or any ideas as I am clueless.
Overall thank you sooo so so much for the detailed review. I appreciate it a lot <3
Yeah thatâs a really good idea. Something simple-ish yet fit for the kids. Didnât find the icon to be an issue as I get good ctr but will take in consideration!! Thanks man!
You lost because total power was lower than NPC power but visuals can be fixed. Thanks for bringing that up to me!!
Biceps add to total power. Like another way to train. Donât know how to make it easier for players to learn thatâŠ
AI icon but good ctr yeah I should change it, but first I wanted to see how to make the game itself better, because, even though itâs generic, I saw a very generic and basic game which was launched less than 2 months ago at 15k ccu earlier today soooooâŠInsane numbers but howww?!
Seems pretty interesting, but it looks like something that would work better with kids, so advertise it for a lower age group. The game art (icon/thumbnails) are also lacking. I understand you are going for that simple cartoony look, but the thumbnails are just too little. (you can hire me to make some thumbnails/an icon if you want )
I think thatâs the problem, itâs now too easy combined with over-repetiveness. But that also could be that it is because I am just not into such games, really, so take my review with a grain of salt
I still think the map should be bigger, and not one more map, but the general map. There should be more to explore and you also have pets, which makes the feeling of the map even smaller. Like there were guys (I think even you, if I remember correctly ) with like 6 or even 9 pets that took over that tiny map basically
Regarding the pets, I donât know how to get them. There should definetly be a shop where you can buy them without Robux. I could imagine a sort of âpowerâ currency where you add 1 leg muscle + 1 arm muscle = 1 power. Then with the power you can buy the pets who help you achieve more results. But the pets should start low. Like start with a âdirty dogâ or like that and go up to an OG cat. It should take time to achieve that. Since this game is about fitness, maybe add outfits one can buy.
Overall now the game is too easy. I also did not really have the motivation to go up to hard, because, why? Thereâs not much difference to low vs. hard besides muscles and a rank. There should be a motivation to go to that level. Like a reason why some would want to go that way. I think receiving a currency like power and then being able to buy stuff is a great way.
